Oh, absolutely- cooler heads will prevail. They will resolve their differences through tough, but constructive dialogue.

Exactly! Using proprietary battery shapes and sealing them inside the devices benefits only the manufacturer - everybody else loses. I also can’t believe the bullshit excuses they use to justify this: “open designs can’t be waterproof” (yes, they can), “sealed cases are thinner and lighter” (by a fraction of measurement nobody can even appreciate in daily use), etc.
