You’re being a bit hard on yourself. Words (and other things) change over time, misunderstanding things isn’t shameful, only failing to adapt to new information is.

I’m going to assume this question was asked in good faith. Speech is a synonym for expression. The written word is also not technically speech but is very much included in the term “Free Speech”.
It’s not just this, other policies he had were not popular with the New Labour element (which was essentially a lurch to the right, economically), which also helped to sow the discontent and dis-unity in the party during his election campaigns. The Israel thing is just the largest front they all attacked him on so it’s an easy turn to be able to say “well we’re denouncing genocide for one thing”. I suspect a more thorough policy stance will be more forthcoming.
Sadly, I think the UK is too stuck atm, with it’s FPTP and (basically) two party system to be able to get a significant dent in the number of Labour MPs, however a show of support for (what I imagine will be) more social leaning policies might help to drag Labour back to the left a bit.
Haven’t stepped foot in one since 2016, with one exception where I went for a piss and run, can’t say being there brought back fond memories, bit depressing if anything.

Goebels filmed Jewish ghettos where they put water in cups with black ink in, to look like coffee, to “show” to the German people that the Jews were being taken care of very well in the ghettos (and later camps).
Plus ça change…
So I realise it’s a typo, but I’m also chuckling at the idea of a “non-dei” (heavily /s) version of Aeon Flux following the life and adventures of Aron Flux.
I’m not particularly aware of the rules of the community but I would assume the intention is to indicate if the bus stop is “lit safely” for those who feel more vulnerable at night, such as women, the very young, and the very old. So I would perhaps interpret it that way - does it feel “safe” for things such as if a paving stone is loose, would you see it, or could an attacker get too close before you saw them.
Thank you that’s good to know. I wasn’t aware of any positive affiliation with it. I’ll bear it in mind moving forward :)
Ah that’s interesting, I had thought of it more negatively. It’s not a common word where I am, so my knowledge has been gleaned from American media, mostly.
Would you mind explaining how chutzpah and hubris differ please? I’m not sure I get it.
I often felt from context it was closer to “hubris”, as “cajones” might just mean brave.
Fair warning I haven’t read this specific article but an MIT prediction has societal collapse happening by 2040
The french used to use an explosive device called a “petard” (old french for a fart), that was used to breach doors. However these would sometimes blow back and kill the user rather than breach the door. This was the original intention for the Shakespearian phrase. One was Hoisted (old verb* not used anymore but essentially blown off their feet) by their own Petard (or door breaching bomb).
More information is here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoist_with_his_own_petard
*Unrelated to hoist as in to lift, despite similarities
Yes agree with this and categorise each into one set of broader goals, I suggest one is Programming, one could be Gaming etc. Then allocate time to each larger goal and order your sub “tickets” in there so you focus on one thing in a section at a time. For example, don’t learn Python and Rust at the same time, focus on one or the other (I’d probably suggest Python first as Rust has a very steep learning curve), but you can easily spend some time a week learning Python and some time learning Factorio, without the two things working against each other.
Edit: for Programming stuff the site Roadmap.sh (https://roadmap.sh/) is useful for giving you an opinionated task list. It’s not for everyone, but if you just want to know where to start you could go a lot further wrong than that.
It might help in the future for trigger warnings as it’s used in those quite often, at least. Every cloud…

One of the most wholesome things on the internet is being able to see all the trans joy in spaces such as these.
Good for you, and may all trans people find such joy :)
