  • It’s not just this, other policies he had were not popular with the New Labour element (which was essentially a lurch to the right, economically), which also helped to sow the discontent and dis-unity in the party during his election campaigns. The Israel thing is just the largest front they all attacked him on so it’s an easy turn to be able to say “well we’re denouncing genocide for one thing”. I suspect a more thorough policy stance will be more forthcoming.

Sadly, I think the UK is too stuck atm, with it’s FPTP and (basically) two party system to be able to get a significant dent in the number of Labour MPs, however a show of support for (what I imagine will be) more social leaning policies might help to drag Labour back to the left a bit.

  • I’m not particularly aware of the rules of the community but I would assume the intention is to indicate if the bus stop is “lit safely” for those who feel more vulnerable at night, such as women, the very young, and the very old. So I would perhaps interpret it that way - does it feel “safe” for things such as if a paving stone is loose, would you see it, or could an attacker get too close before you saw them.

  • Yes agree with this and categorise each into one set of broader goals, I suggest one is Programming, one could be Gaming etc. Then allocate time to each larger goal and order your sub “tickets” in there so you focus on one thing in a section at a time. For example, don’t learn Python and Rust at the same time, focus on one or the other (I’d probably suggest Python first as Rust has a very steep learning curve), but you can easily spend some time a week learning Python and some time learning Factorio, without the two things working against each other.

Edit: for Programming stuff the site Roadmap.sh (https://roadmap.sh/) is useful for giving you an opinionated task list. It’s not for everyone, but if you just want to know where to start you could go a lot further wrong than that.
