As much as I love that airframe, I have to agree. The program was never going to be financially or strategically viable.

The largest blunder of that era was the amount of brain drain as engineers from Avro fled to the US for higher paying jobs.

This has the same energy as credit unions being banned from using the word ‘bank’ as a descriptor.

The userbase here is far smaller which means a lot less engagement.

Distant Worlds 3 has just started in Elite Dangerous so I think I’ll be playing that for some time.

DW3 will take a large group of dedicated explorers across the galaxy which should be a memorable experience for everyone involved.
