    if a sausage that claims to be ‘meat’ is, by majority volume and weight, non-meat filler, though… i daresay there are some people who would take issue with that, and i wouldn’t blame them. Meat can be sausage… but sausage CAN be made with no meat, or almost no meat.

  • people redefine ‘right’ and ‘left’ quite often to suit their own internal narratives and post-hoc rationalize riding with a crew that they … basically actually chose on vibes.

    now, i’m not saying that there’s nothing to that!

    there certainly ARE sets of overlapping traits that are more likely to show up among people who identify as ‘left’ vs people who identify as ‘right’.

    i’ve been criticized for using the wikipedia definition of the left-right political spectrum–that of being social equality on the left and social hierarchy on the right. (Although for the most part it DOES seem to fit.)

    the world has changed a lot since the french revolution where people seated themselves in the national assembly with the monarchists grouping up on the right side of the room while the revolutionaries sat on the left.

    i also see versions of it where people base it on concentrating power and authority into the hands of the few vs distributing and decentralizing that power and authority democratically.

    however.

    capitalism both concentrates power/authority AND enforces rigid hierarchy where those who own the equipment, machines, tools, structures, real estate, etc (the capital) are ‘above’ those who perform the work.

    which is to say:
    Yeah i’m pretty sure the sentiment here is correct that capitalism is inherently right-wing. (all the stuff i wrote above is WHY i think it’s correct.)

  • Toxic positivity. I’m not a fan of “your opinion doesn’t count unless you agree with me” and this is just a social media platform saying the same thing. But I’m grateful for the Return YouTube Dislike browser plug-in/add-on so that you can have some point of reference among perspectives outside one’s own. If a video has 300 likes, you might think it’s a fine video and you’ll watch it thinking “wow 300 people endorsed this”. If a video has 300 likes and 500 dislikes, though, you at least KNOW “oh that’s at least one red flag. I shall invest more effort than usual into being skeptical and mindful, and more effort into thinking critically as well, as I watch this.”

    If i see a ton of dislikes on a video whose topic is one of the new reich’s designated scapegoats, the dislike count may in fact be a factor that INCREASES my favorability toward it, because chuds brigading something means it upsets them.

  • waow o.o;

    i sure showed up at a doozie of a time… LITERALLY making my first comment right here!

    i applied for the account like a month ago and finally managed to check on the status, only literally just now finished setting things up the rest of the way X3 feel like i lowkey dodged a bullet that I didn’t put anything up before it would’ve been stolen.

    my condolences for the hardship you’re going through D:
