“Moé for Solarpunk is a small, friendly server run by a group of optimistically-utopian LGBT+ individuals. Registration is by invite only!” https://solarpunk.moe/about Maybe write to them and ask for an invite? (with reference to your Lemmy account, which shows that you would fit thematically)
Is this like Tumblr or something?
I think Misskey and its forks are among the Fediverse services that are not modelled on a specific commercial platform, but have created something completely their own.
The forks differ in details (see comparison), but the user experience is relatively similar.
Not directly for Lemmy, but the song from feddit.org was at least created directly from the Fediverse, i.e. by Fediverse users to support a campaign started in the Fediverse.
Hubzilla (macroblogging service in the Fediverse) can also be used to create and collaborate on wikis.
I can only find a German-language manual for this right away: https://help.hubzilla.hu/benutzerhandbuch/wikis.html
Open Library is one of the main data sources for Bookwyrm’s book data. Bookwyrm is an application in Fediverse that can be used to find and write reviews of books. I wouldn’t see that as a contradiction.

🎷💛🎺 Jaune Toujours - Alles Normaal
“Genre-busting accordion and brass-led brew of rock, chanson, ska, gypsy, latin and Balkan ingredients served up by a high-class posse of the most active musicians on the Brussels music scene’ (the Womex-Guide, october 2009)” (https://jaunetoujours.com/about)
We got to know the music some time ago on holiday in Ostend in the pub ‘Manuscript’ (always good music there).
Odin is only available for Windows. With Linux it runs with Heimdall. This is also described in other instructions for Samsung devices, e.g. here for S10. But in this guide the part is apparently missing?
“there are a few people there”
Even if you have a Mastodon account yourself, the content and contacts are not limited to Mastodon.
You are connected to a large part of the Fediverse from Mastodon and so you can i.e. also comment in Lemmy threads or send content to Lemmy.
Personally, however, I didn’t get on so well with Mastodon because I found the structure confusing and also missed some functions. I therefore moved my Mastodon account to Sharkey and have also been using Friendica for a long time. It also has a better thread structure and many more functions.
At gnulinux.ch there were some articles / reviews about Volla (but in German): https://gnulinux.ch/artikelindex?search=Volla
In the comments of these articles you can also find some experience reports.
In addition to Fairphone and Shiftphone, there is also Volla Phone.
Their self description: “Volla Systeme is an independent, German manufacturer of smartphones, optionally with its own Android operating system Volla OS or the mobile Linux distribution Ubuntu Touch. Volla OS is characterized by uncompromising data protection and a uniquely intelligent operating concept.”
I actually think that too. But unfortunately, Mastodon is the only project outside the Fediverse that has been reported on by high-reach media. As a result, universities and the scientific community are now very fixated on Mastodon, without knowing that there are more alternatives in the Fediverse that might have been more suitable for them.
After all, before choosing a server, the first crucial step is to choose the software/service that can be used to access the Fediverse. But even that was repeatedly presented as ‘too complicated’, so that almost everyone was directed to Mastodon.
The questions that were skipped during onboarding are then asked later by almost everyone and have to be answered individually for everyone.
“Also I’ve started a Friendica manual at https://help.friendica.onl/ but it needs to get content.”
Maybe you may translate some content from this guide: https://friendica-hilfe.gitbook.io/friendica-hilfe ?
Most of the functions should be instance-independent (although loma.ml has activated many add-ons)
The article in the JoinFediverseWiki is very short. It could be expanded a little. I used to have an editor account for the wiki, maybe I’ll find the time to reactivate it.
Thank you, yes, I didn’t read carefully enough. But there is hope for Hypatia!
If I understand correctly, Hypatia will continue with a new maintainer and is now in the Izzy repo
Everything is better ;-)
i.e. mailbox.org, posteo.de; there are also protonmail and tuta.com, but they don’t have IMAP
In my experience, the easiest way to get rid of bloatware junk is to use Universal Android Debloater. This gives you a GUI/wizard to execute the ADB commands. Here is an introduction (in German): Google-Apps und weitere Bloatware loswerden mit dem “Universal Android Debloater Next Generation”
