sorry to be the AKTUALLY guy, but the term ‘2nm process’ does not actually mean that ANY part of the device is actually 2nm in length, it is just a marketing term.
Education! Real, honest education to school age kids. Prohibition just creates a more dangerous black market, and lying (by hyperbole) about drug effects makes kids not believe the warnings which is just as bad (see: US’s failed D.A.R.E. Program in the 90s where they said marijuana is as bad as heroin)
this paragraph is from Lion of Jordan, the bio of king Hussein. Hussein was secretly meeting with israelis to negotiate giving away Palestinian lands in order to get a peace deal - without consulting the PLO. I’m not saying PLO is innocent, I’m saying no one’s innocent and that the Palestinians are paying the price for all of it.
Are all financial times articles as shitty as that one?
This same article is getting rewritten/copypasted between all the “news” sites. It’s all based on absolutely nothing cause they provide zero evidence - it’s just empty accusations and broken links.
I try and give the general population a little more credit on these food issues - it appears to me that the main factor is time. People do not have enough time and energy to prepare every meal from whole fruits/veggies/whatever. Certainly laziness/lack of food education is an issue, but working eight hours plus an hour commute each way (like in the DC region) knocks out ten hours of your day already. Now adding on top of that the time it takes to think of a meal idea, purchase the goods, and prepare them, and this becomes an exhausting affair - one that never ends! And three meals a day? People need more free time to take care of themselves.
Yea this is literally from apple.com
Interesting idea but this article gives absolutely minimal technical information
No not easily. The FDA media office is not a great example because they disseminate FDA information between the public and FDA officials, so no state would be able to take that over because…where would they get the info? But as far as states taking over the research labs - that is incredibly expensive. FDA is currently like 7 to 8 billion $ per year from the budget. I’m reading about the FDA right now though, and they do have lots of offices in many states and work with states on food safety and all that, so I guess each state could start its own small version of the fda. The waste/overlap that comes with having each state have its own little FDA would be ridiculous though
It seemed odd to me to that Shawn Fain would throw support behind tariffs, but it does make sense in this way: “free-trade” agreements allowed US mftr companies to move manufacturing outside the US, where they could pay employees way less while still charging huge markups while selling inside the us, and the c-suite pockets the surplus. The new tariffs '‘supposedly’ should encourage companies to bring manufacturing jobs back to the states, which is in line with the goals of the UAW - improve working conditions and encourage job growth in the auto sector in the US. So even if the real end result of the tariffs is that companies just continue to overcharge and screw people over and find ways to avoid paying fair wages (which is clearly whats going to happen), the alleged goals of the tariffs are in line with UAW goals…but its still bad optics for Shawn Fain to agree with Trump on anything for a siginificant amount of UAW members, especially since UAW now includes a lot of college/university/education/science sector members as well
the replacement is probably just death squads
VOA is/was a propaganda media broadcaster and does/did not provide aid. USAID provides/provided aid, and that aid was the carrot portion of the carrot and stick method favored by neolib imperialists. Gain influence with aid while ensuring US dominance over local natural resources and governments.
40kUSD is nothing compared to some STEM degrees - especially at the masters level. PhDs can often be funded and not cost the student though (only in lost time…and mental health…)
glad you escaped - team ‘logical tangible reality’ needs all the help it can get
I played GTAV on T-430s
Through the Voyager phone app I sometimes use the ‘random community’ search option to make Lemmy like StumbleUpon. I dont see this random option through desktop though…maybe its a Voyager thing
