ooh i wanted to read this last year but didn’t get around to it and now i’ve finished the first chapter! this part got me thinking:

i wonder if i still would have rejected my imposed gender so harshly if i hadn’t seen it performed in such a consistently abusive way. feeling society trying to groom me to become that eventually reached a boiling point and it was hard not to outright hate any performance of that “normal sexuality” which was expected of me

Death’s Gambit Afterlife is a 2d platformer soulslike and probably the closest i’ve found to my ideal parry game, although it’s quite short

Nine Sols is also pretty good but i haven’t put as much time into it

oh i actually had no idea, i read up to what’s been released for the newer one but i’m not sure how far the canvas version got. i can’t see any of the panels for the first one though and it seems like further development will be on the new original. sorry i wish i had more info!

ooh i just started The Summer You Were There and i’m really enjoying it! i’ll have to read Doughnuts under a Crescent Moon next. they’re webtoons but i just finished Mage & Demon Queen (9/10. recommended by @KatGirl@hexbear.net (tyvm)) and first season of Winter Before Spring (7/10. cw for depictions of homophobia/bullying but i still liked it)

yeah platinum was my first so there’s definitely some bias. but i completely agree, i recommended it to someone and she loved it

ooh i really liked Nine Sols as well! i don’t remember why i stopped playing (probably stuck on a boss or something) but i’ll have to pick it up again!

the only other 2024 game i played was dragon age veilguard and it was fine… haven’t finished the story yet but i’m playing it on and off. the chud steam reviews are disgusting though so i don’t want to say it’s bad, it just doesn’t grab my attention enough

early access stuff that was cool: Fields of Mistria is very cutesy and cozy with quite a bit to do. my mistake was going hard in the mines and reaching the cap too quickly. it borrows a lot from stardew but there’s enough uniqueness to be it’s own game. and Hades 2 is fun, i don’t have much to say except it’s more of Hades 1. i’m hoping for both of these get on a best of 2025 list if they get full releases in time 🤞

i’m not sure, there might be good points in the video. it came up in my recommended a few months ago. but looking at the guy’s community page i’m fairly sure he’s far-right/christian white nationalist. his comments are full of antisemitism. he seems to despise leftists of any kind but is willing to read leftist theory in order to effectively organise.
