It’s more like thousands. My small company had two positions posted and got something like 5000 applications in the first week or two. I think it ended at almost 10000.

Watch out for small new recruiting firms trying to take advantage of the market, good chance without reputation/experience they won’t get people hired. Stick with established places/people with good reviews (probably on the hell that is LinkedIn)

I’d guess in 3-5 years we’re going to see a whole boutique market around “shit I fired all of the devs and now my codebase is spaghetti (and linguine and angel hair and bow ties with some rigatoni and penne mixed in) to the extent that the AI can’t even try anymore”.

I’d guess this is going to happen in a lot of industries. At some point the undirected slop is going to clog things up to the point companies start folding over it, and then “Unslop LLC” is going to be the hottest shit for a while.

I’m not super financially literate buuuuut I’d say bonds. They don’t participate in the nightmare machine known as the stock market, which is a plus. They’re guaranteed, no hoping line go up or stressing line go down. And if they can’t repay you, well your 401k won’t be a concern at that point.

I agree, though there are plenty of situations where you must have a chromium based browser. If it must be a daily driver, Arc is probably better than ungoogled-chromium.
