Yep - I don’t really know who these evangelists are either. I have read about “fearless concurrency,” which seems pretty spot-on.

Agreed! The weekly parade of leaf blowers from lawn to lawn is abysmal.
They’ve heard that whole pot and kettle thing, right?
I believe we do not truly have agency but have evolved to think and act as though we do. Since inputs to each choice are likely infinite (probably uncountable as opposed to countable), the lack of agency is difficult to observe.
I’m sure you know more than me about mistakes Bernie has made, but I don’t really understand comments like this.
I believe you should never idolize any politician, and you should similarly distrust all politicians.
Are you suggesting a GOP candidate would have done differently?
The same people would assert that we shouldn’t be meddling in other countries affairs to promote democracy.
I’m not defending our history here - some of it is pretty reprehensible.
I can’t help but disagree. The US is not the only supplier of weapons, and we are rapidly losing allies. Zelensky probably galvanized his citizens by continuing to exhibit strong but humble leadership, which matters a lot in war.
I can’t imagine putting my life on the line for a goofball like Trump
I think Ukraine does have a reasonably strong position for negotiating. Trump could lose out on a sweetheart deal and Zelensky could partner with other countries instead. The talk of WWII is bullshit. If Trump really cared about a world war, he would stop trying to annex other countries.
Trump is doing nothing more than pandering to the oil industry because they want to export LNG from Alaska. Besides, American refineries are largely equipped to handle heavier crude - Canada is helping us out.
We only have a (very) small trade deficit with Canada if you include oil. Canada is subsidizing what we do import to help us out (you know - we’re supposed to be friends).
Don’t believe the b/s that comes out of Trump’s mouth.
I’ve used several over the years, but right now I’m enjoying Hyprland. UWSM is also working well for session management.
You do realize that Canada is subsidizing oil for the US, right?

Had the same thought - casualty is definitely not the right word to use here
Are they going to send back eggs?
Not a fan of diversity or inclusion?
I think it’s silly to focus on just the DNC or the voters. They’re both to blame, and voter suppression exacerbated the problem substantially.
I can’t speak for others, but I learned a few years ago that the immigration process is difficult and expensive. Trump made this significantly worse during his first term.
We wouldn’t have so much illegal immigration if the barriers weren’t so high.
I’ve personally become pretty fond of the syntax and incorporation of FP features. In all fairness though, I haven’t written much C or C++ for the last two decades.
Rust incorporates some of my favorite features from FP with handy green thread ergonomics. I’m not a fan of Go, so this gives me a great option for microservices when I can avoid Node.js.
