When I first got a Steam account, my original plan was to buy every game released on it. But now that’s impossible.
Exactly, every game I’ve ever bought is still accessible.
They have default configurations available for many popular games. The problem is, there’s over 100,000 PC games out there. Which is why it’s generally a good idea to look for community-built configurations before making your own.
Won’t work because I haven’t bought everything directly through Steam itself.
Oh, I looked. The “value” isn’t accurate. I bought most in bundle deals or at deep discounts.
I either play games that I’ve owned for 30 days or 10 years.
Nope, it’s Chrome—which I never use. 😆
They have a pretty good recommendation system for your owned library.
But I also have my own system for what to play next.
I don’t watch TV. I bring a Steam Deck everywhere. And if I get bored, I stop—play something else.
I have this one, installed it on my Steam Deck – but I’ve yet to boot it up.
I get a lot of people who basically think any post with an em-dash is a sign of ChatGPT. I call ‘em hall monitors because they think em-dashes are a gotcha—but I’ve always used em-dashes, and I’m not stopping.
Why should I stop using perfectly good punctuation on account of LLMs?
Nope! And I can provide receipts—show you the original draft as well as revisions. I even made further edits to this post after submission.
But, to you, would receipts even matter?
Or is your purpose here simply to be a comment hall monitor?
(You’re probably going to tell me this comment is written by ChatGPT because it has em-dashes.)
I have a long posting history on the Fediverse. You are welcome to check out the rest of my posts.
Reflecting my own biases here, but I’d say it’s either Jill of the Jungle or Jazz Jackrabbit.
Both work on Steam Deck. 🙂
Jazz Jackrabbit 2 is playable on Steam via GOG.
And while Blake Stone may be “unsupported”, I’ve been playing it for as long as I’ve had my Deck—and I’m happy to demonstrate.
As for where I got my information—it’s from me! I played both those games on my Steam Deck! And they work fabulously!
At first, I was skeptical about the mouse. But then I tried it while spending hours waiting around at a rec centre. It works really well for FPS games like Quake – quite comfortable too.
The reason it makes a big difference, though, is because of the size of the Legion Go’s 8.8-inch screen. That extra real estate makes a mouse more intuitive.
In practice, I think it largely depends on what you play.
If you play indie games, then that 1600p, 144hz screen will make a huge difference.
Also, the ability to set the power draw is a massive factor. I’ve played games with an 8W power draw on 1600p, and it was awesome.
Keep in mind that the OS makes a huge difference in performance. Changing from Windows 11 to Bazzite has resulted in big improvements to the battery life.
Finally, my point of comparison is the original LCD Steam Deck (the one I own), not the OLED edition which seems to be superior in terms of battery.
I’ve installed Bazzite on the Legion Go. Not only do the wireless joy-cons work flawlessly, they actually work better than on Windows 11. Bazzite is a huge upgrade.
It’s neat, but it’s not an officially licensed version of Tetris—whereas Tetris Elements is.
