I’ve switched to ökocat, which is basically just wood pellets. I think it’s made in the USA, but I much prefer it to traditional clay. I’ve seen some people on YouTube demonstrating how to use wood pellets from a farm/feed store, and it ends up being dirt cheap. The main difference I think is that okocat clumps, while the sawdust type wood pellets disintegrate when wet, requiring a slightly different cleaning approach (but still easy). Might be worth looking into wood-based litter since Canada has lots of trees.

Different use case. I used this one for hiking the pacific crest trail in 2016, and a few other hikes since. My bipolar diagnosis was due to a spiritual awakening, which has no other classification medically. Nobody is suggesting to go off your meds. I think it’s perfectly fine to suggest that bipolar symptoms severity is related to un-processed trauma. This would emphasize the therapy component of treatment as a route to being better, as opposed to drugs which focus on getting the individual back to work.

I met this traveling nurse who spends fall, winter and spring working, and then spends summer traveling and hiking in the mountains. I met a teacher who does the same. There are many seasonal workers who put in a lot of work in a burst and then take time to themselves - firefighters, wine grape harvest, ski lift/resort.

Keep an open mind, and live simply. Keep few possessions which add a lot of value to your life. Think of what you want to do, then figure out how to get there. At least then if you are working a boring job, it is moving you toward your own goal.
