Is it Swinyard, Swinerd, Hogg, Hogge, Seward, Sweatman, Schweinhardt, Schweiger, Schweinsteige, Dausch, Purcell, or MacUalraig? Apparently there’s a lot of surnames for a pig farmer.
I have a friend whose surname is Fletcher. I learned recently that’s just an arrow maker. That said I’ve seen in other regions people are named for what time and location they are born and by gender.
Definitely more fucked than I remembered.
If it’s a free service it’s definitely not in your favor. If it’s a paid service, still most likely not in your favor.
I always remember that case where someone got injured at Disneyland and part of their Disney plus subscription is an agreement they can’t sue Disney.
I know there are apps but probably with ads. I would have to go and explore. I don’t really edit images on my phone. I guess if I was using a tablet I would have a Linux install.

You forgot to add the location. John Philadelphia Carpenter.
For frying certain things they’re very useful for flipping or grabbing.
There’s pretty good free software and websites with ads for cutting out images these days. Should work perfectly with an image like that. It’s not as much of a pain as it used to be. On Linux I use defuse (io.github.shonebinu.defuse on flathub)
With what seems like millions upon millions of copyright infringements, seems like more than enough for a serious firm to take on. With some major copyright owners on board I don’t think it would be as David and Goliath as you’re making it out to be. I wouldn’t be surprised to see one of these cases come to pass when these labs actually become profitable. I haven’t heard any pushback on copyright for AI labs in other countries so far so it seems to be a uniquely western complaint although I’m more than happy to be proved incorrect. I honestly have no clue how copyright is managed in Israel, India, or China.
Seems easy enough to prove with a court order. Short of that though I’ve seen people get models to perfectly complete content inferring that information is in there somewhere or at minimum the model is willing to go fetch that information breaching copyright. I am still curious if this is an issue in AI labs elsewhere or if it’s primarily a US / UK issue.

I just meant the topic of cancer which seemed to be a focus. Also I’ve noticed a continual jump between power plants and stoves or other gas household appliances. You are right though that geography and wind patterns definitely play a role. If a buffer zone didn’t matter that would mean one could put a gas fired powerplant on the other side of the earth and they would be at the same health risk as if they were camped out feet away from the exhaust which simply isn’t true. There’s some degree of distance where the effects become negligible. Generally speaking though no one wants to live near power generation of nearly any sort or high power lines which have their own issues.
I don’t think anyone is advocating for us to go back to a time before electricity. PV, solar thermal, hydro, geo thermal, and wind are good, some depending on how they store power, ultimately nuclear is the king and hopefully one day fusion will come around to solve the issue once and for all. Maybe if we find a novel and efficient way of generating antimatter that would be the true ultimate. Coal and gas still have a role to play in many areas not well suited for greener energy and where people get the heeby geebys about nuclear. It does cost more but that could generally be managed by government subsidies.

To keep on topic what I could find was 17% of all lung cancer cases in heavily impacted regional studies. That is communities within a 2- to 5-kilometer. It seems fairly insignificant or inconclusive for people further outside that range. Seems like there just needs to be a buffer zone around said gas fired powerplants which honestly I think everyone wants. I can’t imagine home prices near any form of powerplant or data center are amazing.
There could be a class action lawsuit. I wonder how other major players in AI are managing this, particularly labs in China, Israel, UK, Singapore, and India. Of course each nation had its own laws around copyright. Like isn’t there an equal pushback like this for Chinese AI labs or is it a uniquely American or western thing?

But cancer like coffee or cancer like strong ionizing radiation?
I mean so are social networks mostly and most search engines and so on. Name of the game is to provide a service to gain people’s attention to serve them ads and / or collect their data. Either that or you pay for it up front and they still serve ads and collect your data.
I mean there’s almost no secret sauce about these AI’s currently which is why open source models are nearly as good. We are totally free to set up a nonprofit kinda like Wikipedia where people donate to train and run AI models for the public based on open source datasets. We’re now seeing people like PewDiePie kinda getting the ball rolling.

I’m still not fully sold that it appreciably does affect air quality, I’m aware it’s not zero but is it causing like cancer and birth defects in people around the powerplant? I think you and I are more aligned than the others on this thread.
Would be an interesting circumstance if this was like a USS Main / USS Maddox type situation. It would be a very easy way to get out of any agreements.
