I stated a fact. I don’t get into the drama and I don’t care about the details . There is way too much drama dragging us down from being supportive human beings and that shouldnt be happening. I’m not even looking at your images - just saying more or less we should get over it and agree to disagree. You may be right … .you may be crazy, I have no beef with anyone. Take a step back … maybe reach out and apologize and understand your adversary and see what happens. I too have been affected by making a comment on reddit and having someone downvote my every past comment. This behavior is bad though. I ( until I quit reddit ) used to help in a lot of the electrical and tech subs and there’s no reason to downvote something I said to help a guy fixing his washing machine 5 months ago that deserves a downvote because you don’t like my recent opinion on something unrelated. Lets all be adults and cool to our fellow humans.

So many people are thin skinned and have nothing better to do than to spend their OWN FREE TIME making other people less happy. Imagine instead of having fun or relaxing or playing a game or going outside or hanging with friends … you stomp on other people because they have a differing opinion or said something you didn’t like. This person should not be a mod. This person has a miserable life.

They seem to be really quiet if not not n existent these days.

Been gaming on PC since 1984 - in no way shape or form is it “fun” to be forced to spend money to complete a part of a game. It’s a shakedown. This is also why I would never spend a dime on anything Ubisoft.

I think you’ve hit the nail straight on here. The fact that they can’t do the jobs underneath them because there is a complete disconnect of management to workers because no one works from the ground up anymore.

The high seas still has it’s copy as well. Heck many times I find the copy on the Internet Archive ready to go.

Until you got the click of death. - happened to me… luckily even back then I had a copy. Get your friends to host a copy of your stuff offsite and offer to do the same for them. We even share a drive of music we send around every couple years. Everyone benefits.

I am a nerd without money - I have 3 drives 2 that live offsite. 6gb humble spinny drives. Everything that’s important to me gets copied to these drives- I’m not using any fancy software - its a cut and paste job from a few Linux laptops and a desktop. I still have all my original wav file and games backup from 1998 with this method ( though then they were on 10 zip discs ) It just takes a little due diligence to back up your data.

Generally though when you update Mint you won’t get bombarded with 20 UI changes and some AI crap and naggin and advertising and strong arm tactics to get you to use their cloud services.

It’s not for everyone and that’s ok.

I’ve been using Linux since 98 and never have I ever seen it in so many conversations. 18,000 windows games now run. Distros like Bazzite and the Steam OS are getting kids into Linux. My son… Windows die hard that he was just told me he is not only running Linux but has canceled all streaming services and is hosting his own server. There’s never been a better time to help people get into the fold.

If you have a game that only runs on windows right click on it go to manage and chose compatibility then pick the latest version of proton and relaunch the game. To do it globally First, log into Steam using your login credentials. Then, click on “Steam” in the top-left corner, and select “Settings”. Go to the “Compatibility” settings, then locate the “Steam Play” section. Toggle on the “Enable Steam Play for all other titles,” choose the latest Proton version from the dropdown menu, click “OK,” and restart Steam. My whole library works.

I tried out Bazzite and was pretty happy with the out of the box gaming. Think I’ll consider it for the wife’s laptop when 10 runs out. Kinda torn about giving her a dual boot with LTSC 10 and Linux or just going full in because it’ll be me on the support end.

I used NetZero dialup and played shooters online. I’d get killed a LOT with the lag. Also I uninstalled that damned ape buddy from dozens of peoples machines.

Blogger is free I think - though a domain name will cost ya. I’ve thought about doing this for a while. Back to blogging. Seems so therapeutic.
