True, but I was a child and was not old enough to remember how strict the Australian classification rules for video games were back then.
There was a time before the R18+ classification for video games existed that some violent games were refused classification (Left 4 Dead 2 being one of the most prominent examples; the gore and dismemberment were cut out, but the blood was still red and it was trivial to restore the gore), but that stopped being an issue about 15 years ago.
video games have to have green blood.
This is completely untrue.
I need a phone, a custom-made processor, a lithium-ion battery, a liquefied natural gas tanker ship, a life insurance policy and a washing machine.
Samsung: you’re not going to believe this
It’s bullshit doublespeak that really means “we’re cutting costs (in the short term, the only term that matters)”. Reducing headcount doesn’t reduce the workload, it just means each remaining person has to do more work.
I can think of a few fun combos for Star Wars (Episode 4 specifically):
Alec Guinness (Obi-Wan Kenobi) as mentioned elsewhere in this thread
Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) - Leia being interrogated by Muppet Tarkin and rescued by Muppet Luke, Han and Chewie
Peter Cushing (Tarkin) would be a case of “less is more” but it could be funny. Not sure how well it would work for the whole movie though.
Terminator - Arnold Schwarzenegger
Alternatively, Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor).
Sigourney Weaver in Aliens as well. “Game over man, game over!” Muppet Hudson flails wildly
Those particular drums are usually used for solids, but with a plastic liner inside they can be used for viscous liquids as well. I wouldn’t fill one with a low viscosity liquid, you’d want a plastic or metal drum for that.
Those drums in the picture are really badly filled as well, I’d have rejected them if they’d turned up to the warehouse looking like that back when I was doing QA.
Why the hell does the US get to decide what we do with our tanks?
We used to have a “baby bonus” payment about 20 years ago in Australia. It made very little difference to birth rates and was derisively called the “plasma TV bonus”. Turns out that even 20 years ago a small lump sum of cash wasn’t enough to persuade people to sign up for a lifetime of expenses and responsibilities by having more kids. It was just a handout to middle class families that could already afford to have kids, which is why it was scrapped.
but are they the real villains?
Yes.
Australia mined over 1000x more of it than the US did last year
Don’t give them ideas
Australia made them offer refunds thanks to our consumer law.
This is literally what happens to Helldivers in Helldivers 2. As much as I enjoy the game I’d rather not have Super Earth become a reality.
This was a defamation case, i.e. a civil case. Ten’s defence was that their imputation that Lehrmann raped Higgins was substantially true, so the judge had to rule on whether or not the rape happened. It is not a criminal conviction and there won’t be one in this case because the criminal trial was abandoned due to juror misconduct.
Out of character, super earth is obviously not good, but I don’t think the helldivers are, necessarily. More victims imo
Helldivers are absolutely victims of Super Earth’s leadership. The tutorial shows just how little training they actually receive, then they’re immediately frozen and shipped off to be used as disposable cannon fodder. Their missions are almost always accomplished by throwing Helldivers at the objective until the ones lucky enough to survive complete it, or they run out of bodies.
