As a mostly straight cis there is one scenario where I want to be able to use something like it, but I’m not entirely sure the best way. I occasionally to places like gay bars or clubs with friends. I generally dress well and care about my appearance, so when I’m at places like that I do get hit on. That part doesn’t bother me at all and is actually kinda flattering. I just feel bad having to shoot someone down knowing how much it sucks to muster up the courage and get shot down anyway.

I tend to operate on a Golden Rule type of system and if I were them I’d appreciate some kind of very clear nonverbal indicator what that person is about.

Then again that could be the 'tism talking. I wish people had “specification” summaries floating above their heads to make knowing how to interact with them easier. Of course if that were the case, then plenty of people would take advantage of it in some way.

No, I am not. I’m based in the US. I was wondering if it could be VPN related, but I haven’t connected to a node anywhere outside of the US in months. My phones language is set to English (US) with no other languages selected, and I have explicitly set F-Droid’s language to English (US) in my phone’s configuration as well.

I just now opened F-Droid after a reboot and without being connected to a VPN and began scrolling through latest and quickly found a random assortment of apps displaying the same way. None of them are installed though.

Yeah, I have a FP5 since it’s the closest thing I could get that aligned with my principles and desires, but I will fight any of these mother fuckers saying a headphone jack isn’t needed, or increases costs, or any of the other reasons they give.

To be quite honest, Fairphone seems to be sitting in a really weird place with how they market themselves and the decisions they make. They go on about being sustainable and user friendly and in some ways that is true, but in others it’s not. I sent support an email months ago asking for drawings for the battery cover to make developing a mod I want to make easier and they just got back to me last week saying “we have no intention of sharing that with anybody, but have a look at some of the hobbyist websites, they have tons of CAD models you can reference”. Like what?

Or how they don’t make the phones upgradable as well as updatable. Why not use the same chassis on the new phone and try and make as many of the new components like the screen backward compatible? I know it’s not as easy on phones as it is on laptops, but that’s the point. Figure it out, and you make a name for yourself.

Yes, I also own a Framework 13 laptop. I was in on the very first batch ever, and I have recently upgraded the motherboard, battery, and SSD all still in the original beat to hell chassis.

Random question for everyone from a bit of a noob. When I’m using Powershell (PS) in windows I can start to type the name of a built in command or one I have added to PATH and then press tab to auto complete the command. That part works the same in my Linux terminal.

What I can also do after I have typed that command into PS is start to type a file name that exists in the directory that PS is working in and then press tab to auto complete or cycle through the files that match and it even formats the name of the file correctly (meaning if it has a space in the name it will wrap the name in quotes so that it is understood by the commands they are fed to). This auto completing of file names even works on files that were created after the PS window was opened. This functionality doesn’t seem to exist by default in any distro I have used. Is it possible to do this in the Linux terminal?

Although I have done some distro hopping, most of them have ultimately been Ubuntu based. Currently running Kubuntu.

Not from what I have read. They are only a couple of millimeters thick and a single strand can be hard to spot and follow on foot especially when it’s hanging off of trees and the like. I doubt you are seeing a tiny strand like that through fpv drone goggles. Could be wrong though.

What I do know is that Ukraine is using them and I’m inclined to believe they wouldn’t use something that wasn’t worth it for very long.

I still spend more time on Windows than Linux and I find it much easier to do basic trimming, splicing, resizing, cropping, and other very basic edits of video with just the ffmpeg CLI.

As another poster indicated, if nukes start flying I’m grabbing a drink and sauntering directly towards the expected point of detonation. Having it all be over very quickly doesn’t sound too bad.

Up until that point though? I have already spent most of my life having to fight against society to make room for myself because I’m not wired to just fit in. That’s going to be true wherever I go and I’m OK with that. However, I’m not going to put even more effort info trying to fight what appears to be a losing battle just for the sake of it.

You answered your own question. They appear to have determined that there wouldn’t be demand.

That’s not really how it works, which is made apparent in the video. Without going into details, IF they decided to pay for all of the product to let the buyers decide and it turns out the buyers are not interested they may not be able to recoup that cost and go out of business.
