We lost a great individual in the most tragic way possible 😞
The lecturer, whose name has not been disclosed, reportedly killed the carp without using any stunning method, an action considered inhumane under both Polish animal protection regulations and the wider European context. The indictment follows an investigation prompted by concerns raised about the treatment of the carp during the educational demonstration. The case stirred controversy in Poland after a video taken by one of the students was made public in 2023 by the animal rights group Viva!
Animal protection advocates in Poland have welcomed the indictment as a step forward in recognising the sentience of all aquatic animals and the need for their legal protection. Viva wrote, “What is outrageous — the university’s internal proceedings in this case found no irregularities in the lecturer’s behaviour, and after a period of suspension, she was reinstated. However, the veterinary student who recorded the killing of carp without stunning during the classes — first received threats that he would not finish his studies, and shortly after that, he failed one of the exams and was removed from the list of students.”
You just need a sailboat ;)
Hey, @Shailu45@lemmy.world could you please consider choosing one vegan community to post your articles as my vegan feed is currently being flooded with the same article multiple times.
We got 25 to go!
Thank you for making good choices!
It’s really sad to see people wanting to die earlier.
Op please check your posting history as this a duplicate.
It happens a lot when people on the threadverse are quick to point and accuse “advertisement!”
Carnists cant keep their animal abuse flesh to themselves 😤
Because we want to keep our favourite foods. So many people say they don’t want to go vegan until they realize there are vegan alternatives to almost everything.
The vegan alternatives do not have animal abuse and environmental degradation.
It really is something to behold. The animal agriculture propaganda did its work.
It really is! More people need to read this.
I don’t want the animal abuse or health effects from flesh.
there’s always a bunch of virtue signaling people or people lecturing others that they don’t need it and go to their lifestyle anyways.
It’s not virtue signalling when people stop paying for male chicks to be macerated.
There’s also Yo Egg.
No one here is suggesting that, stop with that fear-mongering nonsense.
My man knows good food.
It’s the coconut products from Thailand that you want to avoid as they were regularly caught using monkey slaves.
