2·10 months agoGriffin got wins off an easy schedule. The mistake was not firing Bud or firing Griffin, it was getting the Griffin hire wrong and not fixing the old core.

37·2 years agoTechnically true in that Signal does not yet use PQC for forward secrecy. Meredith Whittaker has a good statement on it here:
They’ve been working on a cloud backup feature, which might enable this.
Session eliminated perfect forward secrecy. Big no for those who take encryption seriously.

I agree with a lot of what you say, but your last line is ridiculous. Everyone in LotR was armed to the teeth, and that was no hindrance to expressing their feelings for one another.

3·2 years agoDefense has not been playing lights out. They get a lot of turnovers, but in terms of yards and points surrendered they’re not very good.
The new scheme puts Brook in a spot that is a bad fit for him. He was a DPOY contender because he thrives in drop coverage. Griffin is moving away from that, it seems, so it will be very interesting to see where they end up.

They do not at this time intend to drop the phone number requirement, as they see it as an anti-spam measure. Meredith Whittaker has said as much. Phone number privacy is a project independent of requiring phone number at signup, and it just prevents other users from seeing your number.
Usernames have not been released yet. When they are released, phone number will still be required for registration, but you will be able to hide it from other people on Signal.
No perfect forward secrecy. Pass.
