I will go ahead and say that they’ve clearly gone for a “quality over quantity” approach, which could pay off over the long run.

That said I suspect they’ve not “tried” many projects and basically written blank cheques to famous actors (now “producers”) to basically pay to win.

However a lot of their stuff is fairly mediocre, just with some big names attached to them.

There’s probably like three shows and two movie I have actually watched on there, and according to this article I’m probably not the only one.

So yeah, it’s definitely not worth the money.

Also I hate how they’ve made the app a “one stop shop for all streaming services. It would be cool if it did collate all the content from my streaming subscriptions, but unfortunately most of the stuff is just an upsell to some service I don’t want.

Perhaps the purpose of it is really just affiliate links!

I think a big part of why western countries “fear” china in the automotive space relates to local companies’ workers being expected to compete in a race to the bottom for compensation for labourers.

Just look at the fashion industry - sales of five dollar dresses made by workers at shein in miserable conditions dwarf those of 200 dollar dresses produced by local workers with a comfortable quality of life.

They seem to play on cultural references “for the lolz” and sometimes some pointless competition e.g “screw meme A buy meme B!”

Thinking about it I don’t understand why, given the now unpopularity of Elon and his gvt stuff, the meme coiners aren’t going all out on CATE to spite DOGE. That would actually be hilarious to see in the papers!
