I’ll just come out and say it was SevOne, although it was well before the acquisition. This was right around the time they got a huge infusion of cash from Chinese investors.

I had this happen to me at a company that is now an IBM subsidiary. I took FMLA leave to get mental health help to cope with the burnout, and about a week after I got back, they took me into an office for a “quick catch-up meeting” where they told me it wasn’t working out and that I had to go. I’d worked my balls off, getting promoted directly from product support up to software engineering within a year, but apparently that didn’t indicate anything positive to them.

I discovered at a young-ish age that the adage of “do something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life” is absolute, unabashed bullshit.

There’s few things more satisfying than having the “IT guy” say “oh it must be a Linux problem” only for them to have to eat crow within 24 hours.

FreeIPA does a passable job at replacing AD for the absolute most basic functions. I used to use it for sudo rules and user management at one of my previous jobs, even though it wasn’t a Linux shop.

There’s also R2ModMan that supports Valheim and a bunch of other games.

Do you use Discord, by any chance? I remember having this problem when I had audio ducking enabled.

I vaguely remember kbin allowing you to see who upvoted a particular post, so it might not be too difficult.

Part of me wonders if they’re going to figure out another orientation that’ll work later on, like having the two inner folds tucked back in a way that lets you prop up the outer screen or something. Regardless, I personally prefer the way Samsung has done it because those foldable screens don’t really instill a ton confidence in me when it comes to durability and having it on the outside (and wrapped around the edge, as in the case of the Mate XT) skeeves me out.
