Yeahhh, I have more mixed feelings on xorlo these days. Likeee I agree with you and ppl were making this argument during the discussion about it in the BPFK but they could not come to a consensus so they made the entire problem irrelevant by redefining the gadri in this way. I think the previous definitions may have had more semantic richness for speakers to take advantage of but at the same time those definitions are on very shaky logical foundations (xorlo is too but it just makes weaker claims lol) and they imply certain metaphysical things (universal objective truths, ideal objects, weird, possibly contradictory stuff about sets, etc). But also taking taking them out means you have to be more verbose if you wanna be less vague cuz there are no implicit quantifiers and the status of other language constructions about “veridicalness” such as the difference between “poi” and “voi” (whether something “really is” something or the speaker is just describing it that way) is uncertain :/ (as far as I know, I didn’t find anything from the BPFK about it with a brief search). Tbh I think it would be way better if we just found some other way than classical semantics for Lojban’s logic cuz I feel like it rly constrains our options (likee if something is or isn’t bear goo according to the Ideal Bear Goo Decider (entscheidungsproblem type stuff) which we assume exists cuz something either really is or really isn’t something under a definition of the something, describing it as the opposite of what it is or isn’t under the previous definitions is just invalid entirely. You can’t even speak it without making an error equivalent to if you just slammed your hands on the keyboard or made some random sounds instead :|)
