Commented about this recently somewhere else, so it’s what came to mind first - ‘Mother’ by Darren Aronofsky. I came away from watching it really excited about interpretations involving artists, egos, glorified relationships with their ‘muse’ that drains that partner completely until they have nothing more to give and are discarded, shattered, while the artist is adored etc.

Aronofsky himself describes it with a fixed interpretation of (paraphrasing) ‘she represents mother earth, and we are taking from her and destroying her’. Which in my opinion is just kinda boring. I can see it fitting, but it just makes the whole movie much less interesting to me

I can confirm that it shows up as both for me. I’m not in US or Mexico, and it shows as “Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)”. The info I saw was that it shows as GoA in the US, GoM in Mexico, and both everywhere else. At least 2 of those are true, I’m guessing all 3 are

Another article might have included a photo or photos, but the ‘image’ being referred to is the image presented by a person or situation. Which is described. It’s not about one particular photo

Just finished Echoes of the Eye (Outer Wilds DLC) last week, now trying Hollow Knight again. I’ve tried before, I love the game, I just don’t play many side-scrolling metroidvanias and even with the map and the pins I get lost and overwhelmed.

This time I’m trying to just go with the flow a bit more, not get too hung up on mentally mapping out every twist and turn, and so far I’m making much better progress (I think). Gonna stick with it.

I’ve been reading a fair few similar complaints to yours, which tells me that there could have been some better communication about the mechanics of the dream sections. Personally, I loved it. At first I felt blind and lost, but (in perfect step with the themes of the DLC) I slowed down and treated it like a puzzle. Light in the darkness. Looked for the clues. There are always things to guide you, eg you focus your lantern and light the next candles and pick your way through the woods.

And the stealth sections, same thing. If you slow it down, and use all of the clues - there are many sound cues from the inhabitants, and if you take it slow, you can spot their eyes in the distance with a quick lantern focus. Then, quietly take the convenient alternative paths as they approach. Once I was playing it like a puzzle, there was no more stumbling into them.

I think a break between base game and EotE is the way to go, allows the shift in tone to not be so drastic. I understand the advice to do it all together because of the way it mingles and effects the base game ending, but overall I liked doing them separately.

Ahhh keep going, really experiment with creating different openings for attacks. Such a great fight. And then (maybe spoilers, not sure? You probably already know that fromsoft games often have different endings / paths) figure out how to have an even harder version of that fight

Also anecdotal: I met an American in France one time. We were both travelling, so there were plenty of other things to talk about, but somehow he got onto the subject of how much he loves the 2nd amendment within 5 minutes of meeting him, max. Nope. He does the salute twice before saying the ‘my heart goes out to you’ plausible deniability attempt. Which makes it much less likely to be just a simple gesture, and also makes it very very clear that the crown is cheering the salute, not the line which comes later.
