  • Where? Pax Americana enveloped all of the developed world and American shanenigans have an impact on everywhere it would be nice to live. Late stage capitalism is a global problem nowadays. Americans are getting fucked economically but europeans are facing the collapse of security structures and the need for huge arms investments, also the wave of right wing populism doesn’t seem to be receeding. IDK too much about situation in south America but apart from Argentina 100 years ago SA countries never seemed to be the best of countries to live. Developed nations of Asia probably have the same problems as Europe right now.

I guess we should just hope that China doesn’t turn their strategy from economic expansion to something more imperialistic and will still be satisfied with us just consuming tons of their plastic shit.

  • It’s not like USA didn’t profit from being the sole sheriff on international waters for those 80 years. Europe being subdued and mostly not seeking any power projection in that period allowed the US to dictate who buys what from whom and in what currency. None of world policing was a charity. There’s no going back to that. Europe has to commit to security, I just hope Von Der Leyen and Tusk will not waste that 1trillion euro they are promising to spend on that and that Americans will take the Russians assets out the Romanian way and become sane again.

  • Back in mid 00s I created a forum for fellow classmates to share notes, info on exams and whatever. It was active for a year or a bit more, then someone set up a Facebook page for our group and the forum died in about a month. I could not understand why people migrated so quickly, Facebook group was atrocious when it comes to search functions, any files, notes or anything you didn’t download immediatelly were lost to time never to be seen again. If the forum is still up I’m sure I’d still be able to easily download exam schedules and all notes from all the classes there, with Facebook it was a pain even a week after someone posted. There is something fundamentally wrong with society if an inferior product can sweep the board so easily. People do not care about quality or usefulness of anything, all that matters is marketing and trends.

  • Naleśnik in Polish. Etymology is unclear but certainly slavic. Most current hypothesis claims it’s from “na liściu” meaning something baked on a leaf.

We eat them with various jams, Nutella, anything sweet, sweetened cottage cheese or quark or curd or whatever a “twaróg” would translate to is a popular filling too.
