I will say though, if you’re the kind of guy who likes MMOs and RPGs (like me) you’ll love dune.
I used to play a ton of RuneScape back in the day, and recently I’ve been playing Eve and Star Citizen but dune is just a better game in every possible way than those three. I’ve been so obsessed that I had to uninstall it this week so I could get to sleep on time for work haha
Damn, so according to you anyone who played COD or Halo back in the day should also be banished from society?
My two biggest issues have been HDR and simulation hardware.
It’s been a good few years since I’ve tried it but every time I’ve tried HDR my saturation just gets cranked to 11 and it looks like those nature photos that are edited to hell and back. Not sure why, and I’ve heard other people got it working so idk. I think it’s just the Nvidia drivers doing their thing and not working.
But controllers for flight and racing Sims are the biggest headache to get working. And then when you do get them working you’ll have issues with games running well and detecting them (I think this is actually due to proton/lutris), issues with force feedback, issues with the various buttons and sliders that aren’t the primary axis. And then, after you spend hours getting them to work, it’ll just break again the next time you want to play. My sims and FPS games are the only reasons I still have a windows install.
Yes! The devs are still putting out updates that are entirely free! Like recently they’ve added new types of buildings and NPC ran stuff for your settlements, overhauled the planet Gen, added new planet types, overhauled the rendering engine, completely redid the ocean biomes so now there’s animals and plants and biomes all under water.
Hello Games may have launched a really bad game, but they have cemented themselves as my favorite game company because they just straight up admitted they messed up, and then have been grinding away at making the game better and better and better for the last 9 years (which side note, holy crap it’s been 9 years. Ugh I’m feeling old now)
They are coming out with a new game that I am very very excited for too.
I think it’s more because pipeline work is inherently unstable so they get paid a lot but it’s for short contracts. Plus it means businesses are more used to transient workers.
Like my buddy can clear $80k in 3 months working 100hr weeks. There’s no IT job in the world that would give you those kinds of hours.
And yeah, American companies sometimes use the visa trap to get workers. But don’t pretend thats a uniquely American phenomenon haha
People still do this. I have a buddy who only works 3-4 months a year. Hes a pipeline welder so long hours and hard work, but then he travels around the rest of the time
Portal with ray tracing is a really cool demo, and Ive used it on the past to show off ray tracing. But man its just not as pretty as the old portal because it lacks the charm, its like those nature photos that are blown out with HDR
Twas a joke
Even when you amortize it across all of the little cities
Please read the comment in it’s entirety before responding ❤️
France spends ~$15 million/mile for high speed commuter rail. Which means that line would cost $1.5 billion.
I don’t think it’s bringing in that many more people. Even when you amortize it across all of the little cities it would go through
These small towns would still be an hour+ away from large cities, even with European speed high speed rail.
Like for me, the nearest “big town” is about 100 miles from me, which is about a 2hr drive. And, at least from some quick googling, it looks like most commuter rail in France tops out at about 100mph. A train would not bring in more people haha
It’s called “cheese cake” not “cheese pie” so I don’t think so
From the article for anyone who cares, NASA uses 15 digits (3.141592653589793
) because at Voyagers current distance from earth (~48 billion kilometers) that would give you an accuracy of less than half an inch.
I wanna know who refactored all of the fucks out of 4.18
No. America has its issues of course, but Curiosity and in a wider sense NASA is an entirely good thing that America does.
Just because we have work to do in other areas doesn’t mean we can’t be proud of the good we are doing.
Yeah but they’re mostly “sane” conspiracy folks. I miss the absolute bat shit insane ramblings from reddit haha
Yeah I’m aware, it’s more of an exercise in research for me. They send me down some crazy rabbit holes and it’s just super interesting a lot of the time.
So in Chinese traditions “10000” is just a stand in for “really big number”. Kind of like how, at least here in the states, well say “there’s a million of them”. Not that there is literally 1,000,000 of the thing, but more there is just a lot of them.
