Awful little creatures. Usually kobolds or similar things. I enjoy playing morally bankrupt (or downright evil) but weak-willed characters, the sort who will be the first to suggest torturing the prisoner for information, or demanding ransom money for the dignitary we’ve just rescued, or whatever’s appropriate, but who will cave quickly under criticism from the rest of the group, begrudgingly going along with group consensus out of fear of being ostracized. Sometimes it results in a redemption arc, sometimes it results in slowly corrupting the rest of the party by convincing them over time how much easier my character’s methodology would make everything, and either is fun.

This is basically a polar opposite to how I actually am, which I think is the most fun sort of character to roleplay.

Godot is fantastic, supports linux natively, and it’s FOSS; highly recommend it.

“Decent reviews”, but it’s a 71 on Metacritic. While in a normal world a 71/100 probably would be “decent”, I, and I think the majority of people, see a 71/100 and assume it’s a steaming pile, because of how absurdly skewed review scores are.

The US has the Fair Access to Banking Act trying to do similar things, but it’s been stagnant for 2 years.

This bill places restrictions on certain banks, credit unions, and payment card networks if they refuse to do business with a person who complies with the law. Restrictions include prohibiting the use of electronic funds transfer systems and lending programs, termination of an institution’s depository insurance, and specified civil penalties.

Banks and other specified financial institutions are allowed to deny financial services to a person only if the denial is justified by a documented failure of that person to meet quantitative, impartial, risk-based standards established in advance by the institution. This justification may not be based upon reputational risks to the institution. Banks may also deny services to a person who engaged in rude or harassing conduct toward an employee of the bank.

The bill establishes the right for a person to bring a civil action for a violation of this bill.

I’d give him or her a pass

I know what you mean, but ‘give them a pass’ typically means to overlook bad behavior and not hold them accountable, not to pass on electing them.

I honestly think if politicians had to live solely on the median income in the state or country they represent, we’d be seeing a lot more legislation that’s in the interest of the working class. Or a lot more corruption and under-the-table dealings, but certainly one or the other.

$8 billion lawsuit

They want Mr Zuckerberg and his co-defendants to reimburse the company for more than $US8 billion ($12.2 billion) in fines and other costs Meta paid following the controversy.

So… a $12.2 billion lawsuit, then?

It’s great. Trump’s ego won’t allow him to just let the Epstein situation go. If he’d just stop talking about it, stop drawing attention to it, stop denying it, it’d have a better chance of going away eventually. As long as he keeps it in the forefront of everyone’s mind, it never will.

Calling it now: Putin and Trump had a falling out, Trump wants Zelenskyy to attack Moscow hoping that it either 1) kills Putin or 2) puts the pressure on Putin to capitulate (to Trump) somehow.

This is nothing to do with ceasefire talks or Ukraine at all. This is between Trump and Putin.

I don’t know how much truth there is to it, but one compelling reason I’ve heard is that adult content has a considerably higher chargeback rate than other content, making the risk much higher for payment processors. This makes sense - I could absolutely see some horny person buying some adult content, getting off to it, then doing a chargeback in their moment of introspection.

Yeah, I quite like what we made this year. Wish we’d had more people getting involved - would have been neat to have like, 10 or so small things in there.

Obviously far too early to start planning something, but I think we should go with a collage of instantly recognizable furry gateway characters - Disney’s Robin Hood, Gadget Hackwrench, Nick Wilde / Judy Hopps, Lucario, Renamon, etc. - and prep the image a month or so in advance, then start posting it around a few furry subs to publicize it. If we can get any traction on the design ahead of time, it’d be easier to get people on board with making it.
