Iirc valve will even allow devs to generate as many steam keys as they want and sell them outside of steam for no cut whatsoever (and Steam will still provide support for the game on the launcher for those keys). And virtually no devs do it. They prefer to take the 30%. So that tells me that what they charge is more than fair to the devs
I mean this is obvious af
When Netflix had 90% of the shows that you wanted to watch and they weren’t annoying little fucks with account sharing and geo location, everyone was happy to support them
But once paying users feel like they are being taken advantage of, instead of catered to, they leave.
There’s so many cases where pirating is not only cheaper (duh) it’s actually a better product/experience. And when you charge to provide a worse product/experience than what people can get for free, then you can’t be surprised at the outcome
He probably would have still won but you can’t make that determination directly
Probably a lot of people voted for him as first because they could have another, more known option as option 2.
Like in the National elections imagine that there was ranked choice. A third party would get a significant amount of votes, maybe even surpassing the democrats, but without this ranked choice, the inertia is just too high and it’s too risky to vote for them.
Fuuuuck this is depressing
Lots of left politicians from my country there as well (and it’s quite far from Hungary)
Yea but also tools
We don’t have to stop for water, we can bring some
Same for food
Our preys didn’t have such luck
Very late here but thank you for the post
Thank you for your work
I wish to subscribe to more anti pasta info
I’ll have the panda one now if you have time
You know Lemmy is getting good when you have comments like this
Like how the fuck do you know so much about koalas? It’s a rethorical question mostly. Thank you for sharing :)
Tenet is just laughably bad from an audio but also writing POV.
Cool concept tho. He just managed to ruin it.
I’d still recommend you watch it just for those two things.
I think it was the most useless movie to watch/record in IMAX. The trinity test was visually extremely disappointing (Nolan’s fault for not wanting to use CGI and rely on practical effects to mimick a nuclear explosion was just stupid…) and also Oppie as a character in the movie is extremely bland and shallow
And finally once again the only relevant female character is laughably bad.
IMO from barbenheimmer, Barbie was the best movie or at least the one I’d more easily rewatch
Oppenheimer
And even to an extent interstellar
I just find recent Nolan massively overrated
Which is ironic because The Prestige, Memento and even Dunkirk are great
Severance S1 and S2 are vastly different in quality
The first one is very very good. Gripping, with the right amount of suspense and plot advancement.
Season 2 had sooo much filler, useless plot arcs and a lot of stuff that was only included to make it MYSTERIOUS.
I was super hyped for S2 but it didn’t live up to the wait.
There’s definitely education (or lack there of) and propaganda, but the main issue is wealth inequality in this neo liberal, capitalist world
Wages have stagnated and everything is much more expensive. The quality of life of the majority of the population is massively worse than before. Yes we have cool gadgets and better healthcare due to technological advancements but the crux of the matter is that exploitation is tru the roof. People work 2 and 3 jobs and can’t make ends meet. Meanwhile billionaires get richer and richer in increasing pace.
Public services get cut, people get ask to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and they look for someone to blame and are told to look down (to immigrants) instead of up (to the ultra rich).
That seems great! I’ll definitely check it out
Any communities here on Lemmy that you’d also recommend?
And thank you once again!
So as a leftist that I think identifies with Marxist-Leninist ideology but that didn’t find the communist manifesto an interesting nor easy read (it was small but not really approachable) are there any books that you recommend? I’m no economist but I do like reading logical arguments as to why capitalism doesn’t work, or better said, doesn’t work for the good of the majority but instead for a small minority (for whom it works very very well)
