Racism is a huge factor, but it seems the end goal goes further towards complete isolationism.

I used to take semi-regular business trips to the US, but I think from this point I will try to move everything online. Aside from it not being safe for me in other ways, all it would take is someone with a suspicion that my work on the trip is “illegal” to send me to prison :/

While price does negatively (with few outliers) correlate with volatility in the stock market, this seems like more than that. 22M volume on the 5th is more than the stock has seen… ever, as far as I can see, with an overwhelming majority being held by insiders or institutions. The bet appears to be larger than a few bucks, from people who I presume expect big things.

Maybe there is a language barrier, but I didn’t understand if a legal framework is implied by “ethical restraints”. Can one be taken to court for violating an ethical restraint?

Normally I associate such price swings with wild speculation and am genuinely surprised with this considering the generally more prevalent conservatism in European financial markets, but perhaps it’s true that the (time of reading) 550% jump in value is all accurate pricing in of future contracts at this point.

Do you mean the foggy look? If so, that’s not normal. A friend of mine had a similar situation and now has glasses that help clarify the eyesight.

Important note about this (though I don’t know how much you earn): you can only exempt up to 120000 dollar equivalent per year, and you must still file your taxes every year with the American government even if you don’t live there. Non-US bank accounts and investments also must be declared, even if you no longer live there.

I’m not American myself, but a colleague of mine is and she has mentioned having trouble with American agencies because some of these points (specifically the bank account point if I remember correctly).
