That is not what the eligibility tool for the battery program is telling me.
And Google Support told me the same thing when I asked for clarification about how the eligibility is determined.

Not OP but it would appear that any phone that is out of warranty will be denied a repair or refund.

I’ve been emailing back and forth with Google support about this issue for the past two weeks, and thusfar the only information I’ve gotten is that the reason my phone is denied a repair or refund is because the warranty expired in 2024.

I don’t even have information on whether my phone contains a defective battery in the first place. Since the refund eligibility tool doesn’t say that, and I haven’t received an answer to that question yet from support.

Given that the Pixel 4a came out in 2020 and the Pixel 6a in 2022, with warranties generally lasting 2 years, most phones will be out of warranty.

The reason why the terms “eligible” and “impacted” are used like this is because I was trying to figure out the reason for the inconsistencies between the terms on their support page

I am very disappointed with the way Google appears to be handling the issue. They ship their phones with defective batteries, and are now not really doing anything to properly communicate the problem and fix the issue.
Instead we get a mandatory update and no real information

From my understanding Wero is closely related to iDeal, which has been the main online payment platform in the Netherlands for two decades now.

The NL still needs to switch over though, but is set to do so by 2026 or 2027 last I heard.

My experience with iDeal has been good overall

By default both the Dutch and US International layouts would be enabled if you set up the computer to the Dutch region. And you could switch between them (accidentally) by pressing some key combination. It was highly annoying…

The Dutch Wikipedia page says that iDeal was bought by EPI in 2023. They then launched Wero in 2024, and eventually iDeal will be renamed to Wero (Note it says renamed and not replaced)

Maybe they rebranded it? Maybe they reused the technology? I’m not quite sure if and what the relation is.

Its not really new. Wero is a rebrand of the Dutch iDeal which has been in widespread use for over a decade

AZERTY is not really about being similar to QWERTY. It’s the French standard keyboard layout.
Similarly QWERTZ is the German standard keyboard layout.

Most (European?) countries use some variation of QWERTY with the symbols and special characters moved around to fit their respective languages better. Over here in the Netherlands we are a bit of an outlier in the sense that we use the US layout of QWERTY, but with additional modifier keys to make special characters available (It’s called US International)

There is also niche layouts like DVORAK (optimized layout for English) and BÉPO (optimized layout for French).

That is basically the point of these counter tariffs.

They aim to hurt US industries, mainly from predominantly Republican states, while attempting to minimize the negative effects for European consumers and industry.

That is why they mostly cover luxury goods like yachts and motorcycles, and agricultural/other goods for which we can change suppliers to a country that is not tariffed.

The experiment isn’t to make weed sales legal. The experiment is to make growing weed commercially legal(-ish). The sale has been legal-ish since the 1970s already.

Technically weed is not legal, but sale, posession, and growing for personal use have been officially tolerated (gedoogbeleid) for decades. They are effectively legal in anything but name.

Growing weed for non-personal use is not tolerated. But it is tolerated that the coffeeshops which are allowed to sell weed, buys weed from these illegal growers. Its the one major hitch in our drugs policy, which many believe doesn’t make any sense.

So this experiment is meant to create a way for companies to grow weed in a way that will be officially tolerated as well. And we just reached the next stage of that experiment where coffeeshops in the participating cities are no longer allowed to buy weed from illegal sources.

This can lead to official legalization of weed. But that would effectively not change anything in practice, compared to how things are run already.
