The modern TV has awful audio since the speakers are pointed either down or behind the TV. It makes everything sound muffled, just so the screen looks like it has a little black frame around it. I didn’t need the subtitles when using a CRT TV because the audio was considered part of the watching experience and they pointed the speakers at the viewer.

Just run the wire through your shirt and they never catch and you have the added bonus of your shirt catching earbuds that fall out. Not only that, but your phone doesn’t need to be charged halfway through the day.
When I used wireless headphones, either my phone or headphones would die in the middle of a shift, even with my phone at 100% at shift start. With wired headphones, I’d still have 30-40% battery left even after long 10-12 hour shifts. Wireless just aren’t worth the hassle between battery draining and running around looking where they roll after falling out of your ear.
Still too low. $17/hour let’s you apply for an apt with a monthly rent of $906 or less. Most require 3x rent in order to apply.

33·4 months agoJust so everyone is aware, this bill was previously introduced Oct 2023 and reported by news late Nov/early Dec 2023 and looks like it was reintroduced March 4, 2025.
The bill is called Safeguarding Free Speech Act. The below link was what I could find about it.
57·4 months agoShe was fired because a man (without affiliation with walmart) entered the women’s restroom and verbally assaulted her. He wasn’t just factually wrong assuming that a woman can’t be tall, he entered a space that he knew he wasnt supposed to enter.

5·4 months agoReally? I’ve only had one job that required my social security card. I’ve worked in multiple school districts, as well as food and hospitality jobs and only 1 of the school districts wanted to see my social security card.
It’s my understanding another party needs 5% of the vote in an election to get federal money and news coverage.
There’s also a clause where you agree not to perform an abortion while on duty.
It’s really weird and probably comes from Abbott saying that all money from the state supports Israel and that no money is used to fund an abortion.
Not just corporations, but also individuals with a government contract and may also apply to government/school district employees
In Texas, if you have a contract with the state or a school district, you have to sign a contract where you agree not to “boycott israel” whatever that means. So I guess if one was to “boycott israel” while taking money from the state of Texas, that could be considered an illegal boycott.

Report it to the FTC. The CAN-SPAM Act calls for something like a $50K fine for every email sent that doesn’t include a one-click unsubscribe button.

Yes. I have a friend in meteorology and they said that the Weather Channel doesn’t actually have any meteorologists on staff, they just repackage what NOAA and the NWS report instead of crunching numbers themselves.
Probabaly a mix of lowering government costs to give billionaires a tax break and if we don’t monitor it the climate change numbers don’t get worse.
That’s true. There should def be a TV and theater sound mix.
