  • And also how often the movie is completely oblivious to that. For example it’s been a while since I saw “Devil wears Prada” but if I remember right, the ending is:

Our main character has an argument with her boyfriend

Goes to a business trip in Paris

    Sleeps with random guy

Returns home and makes up with her boyfriend

And the movie ends like nothing happened, she’s happy, that’s what’s important

    medieval soap opera

This sounds accurate when I think about it, maybe I found out why I wasn’t interested. The thing is - I don’t mind medieval soap operas (to some degree), I really liked The White Queen, The White Princess and The Spanish Princess. But those are based on real characters in actual history, I can forgive them for being boring at times since history is sometimes a bit boring. But for me the selling point and the excitement comes from the fact that this actually happened (well … sort of). With GoT it felt like I’m watching one of those medieval soap operas but without the excitement of being based on the real thing

  • Maybe I’m dumb but I had a hard time to grasp what it is actually. I guess I imagine something different behind the word “cloud”. A “platform” or “ecosystem” sounds more fitting to me

But especially photos storing sounds kind of extreme for small opensource project like this, do you have a storage for all those data? That could be huge

Also is the project itself open source? I can’t find the repository

And a security would be a huge topic for me for platform like that

Anyway, I guess I have to give it a try and a lot of my questions will clear up

  • I respectably disagree.

Yes, OSM is for humans but navigation isn’t its only purpose. People are mapping mundane things like trees, grass patches or manholes, in my opinion a huge structure like a staircase is worth mapping, even if as a single point. And actually - this concrete staircase is actually used daily by the people in that office building, so it’s not just a fire escape.

Please don’t kill the enthusiasm in people
