  • Am I the only one that drinks cold brew tea? Organic decaf loose leaf green tea in a tea bag. Put in a pitcher of water and put it in the fridge for 3 hours. Remove tea bag. Pitcher of tea.

My mom would sun brew tea. I grew up in Florida. She’d take one of those Mt. Olive giant pickle jars and set it out in the sun for a few hours on the porch.

I like Turkish apple tea hot, but I don’t really drink other tea hot generally. I use the tea to slow my system down (as I’m doing now.) I have a J pouch and when I get pouchitis (inflammation of the pouch that acts as my colon) I can’t keep food or liquids in my system. For some reason, the tea helps calm it down a bit, stop bleeding and reduce diarrhea. It did the same when I had my colon and was fighting UC. I almost exclusively drink water or tea.

  • I’ve watched all of them. I was a TF fan as a kid. I watched it every morning before school and on Saturday mornings. The movies just…I don’t know. The first one was the best of the live action. Bumblebee maybe. All of them felt more machine like, except the stupid peeing…wtf…

That said, they were not great. The story, on concept, seemed ok. The execution sucked. The acting was not great. The tropes were un needed, didn’t even really fit in, and just plain stupid at best. Mostly they were irritating. Like someone dragging their nails on a chalk board in the middle of a mediocre movie.

The last couple felt more like an attempt at hero porn. [que “heroic” music, lame Walberg lines where he wields some weapon that makes no sense, then lots of booms. Don’t forget the meaningless jumping, falling all over the place, and special forces that lean more on the special than forces.]

The only good thing that came out of them was the limited re release of the OG toys. I managed to finally snag an Optimus and a couple others.

  • I did this from our banister to a high window above our door. The cats were always testing the waters and I was afraid they’d fall. I made a ramp leading to the platform, which rests on the window sill, and short rail so they couldn’t roll off of the platform. There was a small roll of leftover carpet from the previous owners of the house. I used the rest of that for padding.

They absolutely love going up there and staring out the window at the neighborhood. Although, only 1 can be up there at a time. Their rules, not ours. If another tries to come up they’ll have a stare off or the one that was there just leaves. Usually with a few choice words.

  • The second GOP went nah, Dodge: “Hemi’s back ya’ll!” Instead of seeing that no one wanted the Dayton Charger because the price is outrageous for what you get. It’s a beautiful car imo, but man that price just blows chunks. Their hybrid Ram is going to be the same I’d bet. Too expensive for what you get. It’s also beautiful, but I’ll be sticking with my 2010 1500 and rebuilding her instead.

US automakers are completely tone deaf to what the majority of people want. We poor af. We want low cost EVs. Low cost cars and actual small trucks again. I’d love a Ram 150 again. Small Ranger again. The 90’s S-10. Even the newer trucks dwarf my 1500.

We need vehicle height regulation too. Not just production but in aftermarket. Want to off road or mud? You do you, but it can’t go on the road like that. It has to be registered as off road use only. I did a 2/4 lower. That is perfectly fine to do 99% of the truck stuff I do. Including light off roading.

  • Fellow vet: I never understood fellow service member’s blind servitude to the GOP. They fuck us over ever chance they get, and we’re dogs at a dog show for them only when it’s convenient. When they show up at a base, it’s either a completely scripted Q&A, with questions vetted weeks to months ahead of time, or they show and are guided around by the base commander and make a super quick appearance at whatever event.

My favorite was the 1 time Cathy McMorris did a debate. She touted helping 100’s of vets a month. Her opponent: “If you are really helping the vets, you wouldn’t have 100’s a month with issues.”

  • Thankfully for that area, the plant closed last year. It wasn’t profitable anymore. Unfortunately, it and logging are really the only game in that town. They took 2 direct hits from hurricanes in fairly quick succession as well. Keaton beach, Fl is only about a 45 min drive from Perry. Some potato chip company was talking about moving there, but it remains to be seen. If I were them, I wouldn’t with the 2 direct hits. Too much risk.

  • Let me tell you a little story about The Fenhalloway River. About a year before I moved to that area as a kid in the early 80’s, some reporter came to report on it. Some locals assaulted her buy burning her with cigars and cigarettes, then pouring the river water into her burns.

I remember wandering some places with my step brother. One spot was along that river. The spot was out there, but still on a decently used dirt (sand) road. We got to the end and to an area we heard was a swimming hole. This was before we heard the river was badly polluted. It was littered with empty bullet casings, KKK signs and nazi symbols. We noped the fuck out of there quick.

While I lived there, at one point, the EPA provided everyone who wanted it with cases of bottled water. We lived close enough to see the sign over highway 19. A 30 second walk and I could just read it. Our well water stunk of the paper mill and you couldn’t see the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket. The EPA water program lasted about a year. Then…nothing. The river wasn’t any cleaner. It was still black coffee. Still smelled of satan’s farts. I just now get the irony of living there and watching Captain Planet.

The mill shut down last year. It will probably take some time before the pollution from it will fade. Decades.

  • I think I see the issue. There is no real official militia. Those who call themselves militias here are white power, neo nazi, or the like. They are very much in favor of everything going on right now because it affects “those people” the most.

Then we have those who are armed individuals. Statistically, last I looked, the majority of firearms are owned by right leaning individuals.

There are those of us that are pissed off about everything, or left leaning, but we have no real means to get together and coordinate any type of uprising. Dig through my comments and you’ll get a good rundown of why.

The best we can hope, those of us that are against all this shit, is arm and defend our own as best we can. That is really more for crazed right side folks who see some reason to start being stupid. Which has happened here and there already, or attempted to. We’re not talking door to door, but groups that have planned raids on peaceful protests, or have shown up in hopes of provoking a peaceful protest into a riot of some sort.
