  • I played a lot back in the day, some 850 hours in it.

You’re not bad, probably. Its more like you’re not making the same handful of useful archetypes that “work” and/or you’re falling for the few noob trap perks-weapons-build styles in the game.

meta talk, read at risk of spoiler and dissapointment

The main issue is that its a solved game with a strict meta. The great players will say you don’t need meta to beat the game, its true, but it also undeniably makes people think the game is harder than it is. In the past when the devs were still actively balancing they would behave as if its some lol-Dota2 type game where fun wasn’t allowed and instead you have to play how the devs want. The end result is we used to have very cool and fun stuff that is no longer viable.

I don’t recommend going to reddit and searching builds, but if you do you’ll be dissapointed.

So what I’m saying is you’re not bad, its more like you’re not realizing how actualy borderline pointless most perks are in contrast to the stuff that is basicaly mandatory. Nowadays its basicaly everyone is a Fatnewt then add 1-3 double grip throwers, some banner(frontline best), 1-3 nimble tanks(just shield and 35+ mdef) early replaced by forged tanks(premium armor) later. Nimble is specialy the best scaling skill as it unlocks the scaling into late game.

Less meta stuff that is still powerful is dedicated spear wall bro to fuck with barb AI, double gun-thrower bro, shield+1h mace stun spam bro.

Then the stuff that just doesn’t work e.g bow bros just suck except for easy fights(who cares), hammers are the worst weapon. 1h Axe sucks, fencers are meme, 1h swords suck, 2h swords are not meta but usable.

And… that is it. The game is solved. Very few perks are actualy useful, some are noob traps(e.g bullseye) and when you figure this out the game is significantly easier.

Meta spoiler aside I can confortably say that as a basic “get good” principle, BB is not a game that rewards actual difficult fights i.e the risk-reward is far too skewed towards the risk side, its almost never worth to take 2x your size fights vs opponents of equal tier(e.g raiders) before day 30-40, even 1.5x is pushing it for noobs. Also important point early fights even 1-2 raiders are enough to make a fight difficult, don’t underestimate 2h weapons, pikes etc. If you see 3 raiders with 2h weapons on day 10 its no go unless you had a great start already imo

You’re supposed to take just the fights you win comfortably until you pass a threshold e.g your first few lvl 7-8 bros with 2h weapons, your first couple nimble bros. At that point you have to graduate to taking harder fights, you severely outmatch most enemies so you can do multiple camps in a row without issue, but not earlier as there is no reward for losing a bro and getting rng loot.

For new players its always best to stay near the towns, do brigand camps early(camps scale in difficulty based on distance from towns), do the knife meta, then when you get a few 80+ armor frontline then you passed the “tutorial”.

Whatever you do avoid 3* contracts, avoid caravan contracts and beasts, do take deliver cargo to a city you’re going to anyway.

Never touch goblins until late game, Ancient undead are seldom worth it.

The least spoilery way to talk about building is just don’t do the whole everyone gets a shield noob trap. BB rewards a distinction between offensive and defensive roles. No compromises unless you know what you’re doing(spoiler meta builds).

Yeah over the years I come and go at this game but I always inevitably crash out due to RNG. Its a great game, but its also a rogue like where sometimes it feels the “good” run is just the one where you hit all the 50% hits, at that point over the years it got less fun. It still is worth hundreds of hours to get to that point though.

  • I care more about what he actualy does than campaign promises or speeches, way too many people are more invested into making the correct call than just seeing the consequences. Specialy the shitty self-defeating arguments against the western left, the same old cliche some people love to use as if it justifies or explains anything.

Miss me with this hypocritical garbage when literaly not a single BRICS country actualy stands up to Israel or worse China and others actively collaborate with them, where exactly is this grandiose global south left that stands up against Israel? In principle they exist and perform very nice gestures, yet have achieved zero actual efficacy or power to do anything. Sounds familiar?

This site is built on top of fucking Xi emotes, the same guy who also literaly shakes hands with Biden and Kissinger but Zohran should be hanged for a speech because he is no longer saying kill all the zionists in one speech because its “the western left” that sucks or is “desperate”. Principled anti-zionists should be burning BRICS flags along with US and EU flags but nah.

I do wish he wouldn’t fumble his PR too but IMO what matters is what people do not what they say, this should be the first lesson anyone should have learned from these almost 2 year genocide. The legitimately worrisome things he already did like hiring that one Dem advisor into his campaign a couple weeks ago, that is the sort of bad action that matters right now not silly speeches.

  • This guy is a genius, omg thank you so much this is the best slop I’ve read in months.

But, Isn’t The Cost Of Inference Going Down?

You do not have proof for this statement! The cost of tokens going down is not the same thing as the cost of inference goes down! Everyone saying this is saying it because a guy once said it to them! You don’t have proof! I have more proof for what I am saying!

While it theoretically might be, all evidence points to larger models costing more money, especially reasoning-heavy ones like Claude Opus 4. Inference is not the only thing happening, and if this is your one response, you are a big bozo and doofus and should go back to making squeaky noises when you see tech executives or hear my name.

I’m adding this guy to my regular reading list, he is awesome.

  • The issue is they’re not a writer, they’re a YT channel, if you prefer an article why even click a YT link in the first place? As I said, a huge mountain of entitlement here.

Someone takes a lot of effort to research and edit a video and if you don’t care for the format that is fine. But saying “the issue is its a 25 minute video” implies the solution is everything should be a tiktok video. Brainrot entitlement shit.

If you haven’t noticed Luna is pretty much an OG global south channel that exists longer than hexbear. Someone could have said “good but I don’t like essays” and leave it at that.

  • Entitled and useless complaint, I`m sorry but demanding content creators change their entire format to suit your personal preferences? Are we so devolved that 25 minutes is too much?

Either you care about a topic or you don’t. You can’t summarize Israel-Palestine in 5 minutes, you can’t summarize Ukraine in 5 minutes. Why do you think it can be done here?

In any case like just google it then and you`ll find the social media slop you want. Her style is fine, you can watch 12 minutes twice if you care and if you don’t then its not like she is the only source.

Why would she need to hurry up so much and “be done with it”, so she can move on to another 5 minute slop? So much wrong here.

  • I can see it in a vacuum, if the argument is a failed attempt leads to a bigger setback than waiting for the perfect opportunity. It is a fallacy though, it assumes there would be a better revolutionary attempt and it assumes you’ll just accurately determine when is the perfect opportunity for the revolution which is a huge flaw in reasoning.

Things like WW2 changed the USSR’s path entirely, and WW2 itself got dozens of small to large scale events that could change history. I can imagine the world would be vastly different if Korea and Japan were unified socialist territories, the cold war without US nuking Japan etc…

I don’t think its wrong to say we are further away from world socialism in 2025 than we were in 1991 but in an alternative universe we would be sitting here waiting those same 100 years since 1917 for the revolution that never came, that is 100 of those 200 years already gone.

  • I don’t want to defend the guy, but yeah there is a difference PDP is a Gamer, Hasan is definitely not. Apart from sharing some interest in Japan I don’t think there is any overlap between them. Hasan even used to stream games but stopped like 6 months ago or something, he doesn’t even stream games anymore.

I don’t think he means “political” as in “I disagree with him” honestly, I’ve seen him openly shit on his own western-white brit culture numerous times. Maybe its self depracating humor, but that is not what right wing does at all. I just think if that is true(I don’t watch Trash Taste) its probably because Hasan is not realy a weeb or a gamer so its not ideal.

Additionaly if you haven’t noticed, he is someone who very much built a brand around calling himself dumb, “monkey” etc… I don’t think right wingers do that to themselves lol even as a meme.
