I will gladly share my plate with civilians from any nation, for I will have more in common with them than any national leader, talking head or oligarch.

I’ve expanded my music library by quite a bit since then, but the core sounds remain largely the same.

The innovation of lo-fi though has been pretty sick.

I find it helpful to try to quantify the time I’ll enjoy with a thing before I buy it. Or maybe there will be some amount of cost savings if it’s a tool.

This is how I finally let myself buy video games I’ve wanted for years. I find the average playtime, divide the cost by that and look at the “per hour” price rather than the whole price. Bonus points if it’s on sale or second-hand.

I usually exceed said playtime since I’m a slow gamer but it’s still a good way to return the value of joy to our limited time on earth.

If youtube stayed as it was in its first ~4 years it wouldn’t be so bad. Everything being video has ruined the internet for me, though, since I agree with you that it’s generally a bad format for information + discussion.

There used to be readable how-tos and tutorials for things, and now all that’s left is 45 minute YT videos littered with influencer garbage.
