It’s always funny when I get an email at work that starts with “Dear ____, I hope this email finds you well.”

Artist’s impression of a person without a skeleton… Or hair lol.
There’s dozens of us! DOZENS!!!
I do the same to portion homemade sauces and such. I have a silicone cupcake tray where each cup is 1/2 cup of liquid. So I fill and freeze it and pop them all out into a baggie to keep frozen till I need them. Then I can make super quick dinner by grabbing a couple of pucks from the freezer and warming it up to go on pasta and grilled chicken.
Well then it sounds like that’s not it. Could maybe also be a nutrient issue. Some of the larger vegetables tend not to grow as big when there’s a lack of specific nutrients like calcium. But again, I’ve never grown radishes so I don’t exactly know what they need.
Is this happening to just your radishes, or is it happening to other root vegetables too? I have never grown radishes but I have had this issue with beets and carrots and found out the hard way that a lot of newer subdivisions will scoop off most of the top soil and only leave a little bit before you hit clay. The lack of soil prevents things like root vegetables from growing larger. If you know that’s not an issue, then it’s probably something else.
That’s exactly what we ended up doing. We have a rather large filtration system for the whole house.
Oh it’s worse than that. They simply don’t know who has them and who doesn’t. I know this because the house I bought 3 years ago and gut renovated had lead pipes and most likely had lead service lines from the main. We called several people to determine if the service lines were lead or if they had been replaced as part of one of the city programs. One of the guys on the phone said “What, you gotta problem with lead pipes? I grew up with lead pipes, you think you’re better than me?” I can’t make this shit up, guy was gatekeeping lead pipes. But long story short, we never found out and are just assuming they are lead 🤷
The last couple of years the earwigs have been terrible. They eat everything and my basil gets eaten down to the stalks. I’ve tried all kinds of things and nothing seems to work other than keeping the soil dry which only mildly helps. This year I noticed a spider hanging out in my basil plant. It kept getting bigger and my basil grew better than ever! Now I take extra care of my spider buddy!
At my first job that literally employed 10 people, the internal IT manager left for a better job. He had been working for them for 5 years and did all sorts of things that weren’t in his job description much like all of us since there were, you know, 10 of us. I remember them complaining about not getting any applications and also asking me in the marketing department about how to entice new candidates. My coworker and I looked at the job posting which required 10 years of experience for entry level pay and both suggested that they either need to pay more or reduce the experience required. Their excuse for not doing so basically amounted to that they were paying the previous guy this amount so surely they don’t need to pay more. Except… He left? Because of money most likely? It baffled me how they just couldn’t connect the dots there.
It means a child that already somehow existed is un-birthed back into his wife, slowly degrades back into a fetus, then splits into an egg and sperm which finds its way back into his penis and finally his nut sack.
I wish the same were true for bras. Women’s shirts are often much thinner than men’s, so a white bra might show through a dark shirt. It took me until this year to figure out that in order to make your bras less visible under light or white shirts, you should use a skin-tone bra instead of a white bra. Blew my mind when I figured that one out.
I had a “Big meeting” last week. It went more like
1/2 day of adjusting the deck, a dry run, tweaks, feedback, wow I’m doing great this meeting is going to go great I’m so prepared!
10 minutes after meeting starts… Important individual: “Let me stop you right there”, boss takes over meeting, meeting details.
1/2 day of anxiety about how I did my best and it still wasn’t enough, and also how “Important individual” is an asshole and really just didn’t give a shit about the meeting in the first place. And to be clear… THEY REQUESTED THE MEETING WTF!!!
You just can’t win sometimes.
This might be the best way I’ve ever seen to get people to clean up after their dog.
We have this in Chicago. It’s great in theory. It generally works well for middle class renters who may have just enough backing to fight it if the landlord is shitty. But for those who need it the most, initiating something like this without any backing to fight it typically results in people not withholding rent to avoid confrontation or keep the little stability they may have. I hope Michigan can come up with a system to back these bills that would better support the people who need them the most.
Haven’t you heard? We’re living in a “feelings” world now.
I know you’re looking for real sources, but my own personal source as an American is my English sister-in-law that specifically asks for us to send her giant blocks of Velveeta cheese when we come to visit and who specifically eats all the things that are banned over there when she comes to visit us. Very small sample size so take it with a grain of salt.
I was going to say, I didn’t have Internet until college we still had CD-ROMs, game consoles, and of course the public library for Internet when needed. Not that these options aren’t excellent free entertainment.
Maybe if it wasn’t such a pain in the ass to use apple TV, they could actually make some of that money back? I really wanted to see Severance and a few other things that were on apple TV. So we decided we would wait for season 1 to end so we could binge all the things we liked and then possibly explore what else they had and decide if we wanted to keep it or not. I have never been more frustrated over using a streaming service in my whole life. We were watching via browser and we tried several browsers and they all had the same problems. It just kept not registering that we were logged in and would make us go through tons of hoops to log in each time and would even lock us out of the account sometimes while attempting to log in again. For reference, this wasn’t a free trial or anything, we were paying for the service and it just didn’t work. We came back a few months later to watch season 2 and the experience was somehow worse. Nearly unusable. Why would I ever pay for that? So I think after this last try, we’re completely done with it. I loved Severance, but it’s honestly so bad that I won’t be watching season 3.
