3 pages of posts with my sopuli alt: https://lemm.ee/search?q=+&type=Posts&listingType=All&communityId=732587&creatorId=1378980&page=1&sort=TopAll
Or the rule could be phrased as “this community acknowledges and disavows JK horrendous views and actions against the trans community, however it is not the topic of this community and is discouraged due to this and inciting negativity. “
You can take any reprehensible behaviour and phrase it that way
!reddit@lemmy.world doesn’t try to avoid discussing Spez enshittification decisions.
https://lemm.ee/c/teslamotors@lemmy.zip doesn’t try to avoid discussing Musk actions
If those instance wanted to defederate because I wasn’t willing to have off topic posts of the latest hate filled tweet from an idiot, then that’s their prerogative.
Admins tend to avoid defederation as it impacts the experience of all of their users. But as I said, if you find an instance that would welcome such community, feel free to create it.
I was one of the main posters on ! leaky_cauldron@diagonlemmy.social
Since then, due to JKR funding anti trans organisations with millions of pounds, I’ve reassessed my position.
There is a pinned meta post in the community about this topic.
We’ve been discussing it between this community mods and the instance admins. The conversation is still ongoing, we’ll keep you updated once a decision is made
That said, I would like a HP community that isn’t plagued with these sort of post though.
Feel free to create this one on another instance. Be ready to get a lot of backlash if you have a rule saying "this community doesn’t allow to talk about JKR actions against trans people ". You can expect defederation from a few instances, and probably the whole instance being qualified as “transphobic friendly”
Thank you for this app!
Oh sorry, I got distracted. From Lemmy to Lemmy there isn’t currently any tool to perform a migration.
You can see !football@lemm.ee to !football@sopuli.xyz to see how we did it
Last point for zip, this is where the majority of lemm.ee users are going: https://lemmy.zip/post/40323214
Other nice options:
The general opinion is that having too much people on the same instance is dangerous from a centralization perspective.
We see it now with the impact of Lemm.ee shutting down, and it is 3 times smaller than Lemmy.world (https://lemmy.fediverse.observer/list)
Some LW mods have a tendency to power trip, even increased by the concentration of communities on their instance
Some of them even openly admitted that for them, federation is a secondary feature: https://lemmy.world/comment/14933488
For stability and ease, hard to beat https://lemmy.zip/
Makes sense!
What censoring? No decision has been made yet
That’s crazy
You can use Obtainium : https://github.com/ycngmn/Nobook/releases/tag/v0.0.8
And it worked, thank you!
I see, thanks!
As asked on the Matrix channel, I thought there was an issue with signing keys preventing this kind of instance replacement from happening, has this been solved?
Very impressive that you managed to migrate the whole instance, including that community, with the old posts and comments
That list is quite something
Hello @Rebelrbl@lemm.ee , rebelrbl@piefed.social,
Should we maybe lock this community so that people notice they have to go to !lego@piefed.social ? You can do so by editing the community settings and checking the “Only moderators can post” box
Why no headphone jack 🥲
