That is a far more funny acronym. Especially for a Frenchy like me, since my peoples often say of the ones controlling such big corporations, “they have fangs so long, they scratch the floor”. (Well… “They scratch the parquet”, to be exact. But who care if the floor is made of wood or not at that point.)
Except the team behind Waze was merged with the one behind Google Maps, they just keep the two apps separated (for now) to prevent any backlash. Same with Doubleclick and Google Adds. (In fact, I’ve got the impression Doubleclick became nothing more than an alias for Google Adds. And for quite some time, I might add.)
Except all of Alphabet entreprises have a name starting by Google. (Or at least strongly evocating it, in the case of Gmail.)
We can’t say the same about Meta. Instagram isn’t called “Facebook Gallery”, and Threads isn’t called “Facebook Short Messages”. (And Oculus didn’t become “Facebook VR”, just Meta.)
Can’t say I find this surprising, especially not coming from a #GAMAM. (Formerly #GAFAM)
It’s probably the first time that guy say someting inteligent in all his life.

French peoples are too.
Again, not exactly the best idea, but with a small enough screw, very carefully drilled tiny hole, and some reinforcing glue, you might have another option there.
There already IS a hole in the bottom “half”, but I’m not sure having a screw head or a nut here wouldn’t mess with the membrane under it, nor how the button is sitting. Might still try it if I don’t find any other solutions.
Thanks for the information, I will take it into account.
I still have the box of the controller, but I doubt it got the information of what plastic is used to make its elements, alas.
While there is no stock left of the Xbox version, Amazon still have some units of the Switch one. But the way that button is made, I risk bending, if not outright breaking, its stem, while trying to take it from one controller to put it in the second. (And I’m not comfortable destroying a brand-new controller to repair another one, especially when it’s “old new stock”.)
Since that controller is based on the Saturn one, I can search and see if the 8BitDo use the same directional pad. (It looks the same from the outside, but that doesn’t guaranty anything for the rest.)
By the way, I looked inside to see how the plastic part of said button was made. Here is a link with 2 pictures (plus the one you already saw with my initial post): https://social.marud.fr/notes/a24xiiatpqy6q6lg

Thanks for the suggestion. I don’t live in a country with the particular stores you mentioned, but I’m sure I can find equivalent shops which might have it.
That said, I will still search for a replacement. (Can’t replace the whole controller, since it’s not made anymore. And it would be a waste to put working electronics into the trash, anyway.)
Also work perfectly with France’s curent president.
Good teachers do it, both in history and french class, but that’s often an overlooked part of the teaching plan. In part because our government ask teachers to teach more and more things a year, and no days are added to said year. (The teaching about religion, I mean. Teaching religion is still illegal in public schools, and must be optional in privates ones.)
Also, the “peoples” who govern us might prefer us ignorant of those things. (And many other, to be honest.)
One morereason to like the fact France dont have any lesson on religion in its schools. (But let’s be honest, there is also a aweful lot to dislike in our schools.)
I prefer wired personally. As for product availability, I live in France, so it depends on what is easily available in my country.
Thanks.
Thanks for your great work.
Concerning the lacks of pin on some controllers, the function row could always be folded in the numbers row and made acessible via a function key of some sort.
We could also make it so pressig the two shift buttons simultaneously is how you lock into upper-case letters. (Another double-shift to unlock.) That would let us remove the rightmost colum too. (I only need the upper-case lock from it, and I don’t need it there specifically.)
Thanks, apreciated.
