  • Trey Parker and Matt Stone contributed to my short period of Islamophobia from 2003ish-2006. Team America was big deal with young teenage boys in semi-rural America. I feel so embarrassed how easily I was led into it by the media at the time. Thankfully I got an activist girlfriend who helped me pull my head out of my ass before I got too old. Of course, that led to anarchism, which led to nihilism and alcoholism, which led to criminal charges, which led to sobriety and back to anarchy, before I finally said let’s read some of this commie shit. It was a damn long pipeline for me holy shit.

  • There’s a reason most places that legalized explicitly banned people with weed charges from operating stores. It was never about correcting the past, it was that it became too profitable for them not to allow rich white men to profit. Weed quality plummeted with legalization, as suddenly the only people who had it were those who only cared about profit. People will tell you, “oh Cali has the best, oh Colorado has the best.” No. It is worse everywhere I have been than it was in 2010 under the primarily cottage run medical industry. That’s why dabs are so big now. Good weed is a mirage, solid strain genetics are gone, and everything is sprayed with chemical pesticides.

  • Sunscreens are regulated pretty weirdly in the US, and so there’s not much room got companies to make changes in the formula for them. I think that’s why so many are so similar, including in smell I would imagine. Even if you’re buying Korean sunscreen, you’re buying their US approved formula, which is going to be very similar to other US brands with not a lot of room for variation. If you can get overseas, you can buy much better and more varied sunscreens. I have no clue about scent though, I have a bad sense of smell so I never really notice much.

  • Yeah going across the oceans is when it’s really most important. It’s also important to get up and stretch and walk around every few hours too. My last flight home I got bumped to a different flight and got stuck in the middle seat for 14 hours, and so I didn’t really get up except to pee, and my feet hurt so bad afterwards, it was miserable. I usually just sleep 90% of the flight, wake up every few hours, wander around, brush my teeth, splash water on my face, do some light stretches in the aisle, and sit back down and go back to sleep. Get some funny looks, but it’s worth it to not feel like poo after.
