In a neighborhood like that, you’d probably end up with a fine and they’d charge you to ‘fix’ it for you.
Fuck, yeah, I mean 7 friends seems like a lot to manage.
Denuvo could have played a role if I had got that far, but as soon as I heard Ubisoft, that was enough for me to skip it.
It’s too bad, the idea had me really excited for a minute.
That idea feels very useful but I also distrust it and it makes me angry for reasons I can’t articulate.
Limited hardware support for fwupd. Mostly older models, ones mentioned don’t appear to be compatible.
The demo feels fairly complete. I lost a ton of time in it, you could play it right now.
Yeah, not wrong, is kind of annoying, but is also cool. SOS2 has always been a special mod in rimworld, great concept but long gaps between breaking updates and fixes. I totally get it too, the scope on SOS2 is kinda crazy for a mod, it’s a lot. If you were going to replicate a rimworld mod as DLC, I can’t imagine a better one to pick.
I do wonder how the SOS2 team is reacting. I hope they take the opportunity to scale back on some of the pieces they have to maintain and try to bring some of the stuff that doesn’t make it into the official DLC into the newer versions.
I’m going to stick with my current process of accidentally opening vim, typing semi-random things that feel like they should work for a minute and then eventually looking up how to quit on my phone.

Not the original commenter, but I’ve heard that may just be a Paris thing which I think you’re hinting at. I’ve personally been to Paris and had the expected negative experience, but in my singular visit to Montreal (not actually France), the people I talked to were very open to people trying to speak French. Heard that the Montreal experience is closer to the norm and Paris just kind of sucks.
Bear doesn’t view something our size as even remotely a threat. We’re assuming the bear isn’t hungry and just not that interested.
That one is about Chris Sawyer. He’ll remind people that there was a bit of C in there, but 99% x86 assembly / machine code in his words.
Id personally be more scared of the chimp. The gorilla is mostly a peaceful animal.
You are right that they are effectively limited use GPUs, but that doesn’t make them useless. That’s really the point, I’d agree it is a weird fit for laptops though.
My personal interest is object detection / facial recognition which is a function a lot of AIs have, but you may or may not classify it as ‘Generative AI’ on it’s own.
It depends on how broad you are with the definition. There are a lot of uses for an NPU that aren’t hosting your own chatgpt analog.
I’ve done similar in my den and can see a lot of decisions that I made similarly to yours that I regret now about 5 or so years later. What I most worry about in your specific drawing here is potential sag on the shelves above the TV. The problem you may have eventually is that there’s a lot of options to support the shelf from the wall side, but how do you support it from the front in a way that isn’t ugly? Without that, you may have odd sagging. I have that problem now with a slightly shorter span and I see it every day and I hate it.
There’s more mistakes I made with my project that you might face, but addressing everything would drastically change your vision. If (or when) I was doing it again and wanted to solve all my problems, I’d just base my plans on what this old house says to do. It won’t stay perfect, those will expand and contract at different rates, but if you want a cheap and quick fix, just get some caulk in roughly the same color. You could use joint compound as the other poster suggests, but caulk has some give, it’s likely to still separate again at some point, but you’ll have longer. The permanent solutions all kind of suck and/or are expensive, if you decide to try to reposition it and the issue recurs, I wouldn’t do it more than once.
Zen koans are basically ancient memes.
It’s mostly a ploy for Trump to manufacture a good reason to get the US out of supporting Ukraine. He’s looking for a way to reduce the backlash to a minimal level. Same plan as the last time when Zelensky was at the white house.
Other countries taking it seriously doesn’t matter too much to Trump here.
