When I lived much further north, we used to get a bus full once a year. They were given cash and told to make a life for themselves. Anyone from a small northern town knows how hard it can be to be a new person, even with a full time job and income.

They were set up to fail.

It’s tough, you can vote strategically to make sure the party you want the least doesn’t get in, or you can vote for the party that aligns with your ideals. I can’t say there is a right or wrong way, but if you don’t vote, that’s how people like the Orange Cheeto down south gets in.

Just had my parents come back. It’s Canada’s border when you come back. Going there next time will be very different. I’ve been trying to convince them not to go.

Set up docker. I ran an installation on Linux and on Windows for a few years but having it running from docker using external drives for library is a game changer. Always up to date. User files and settings Safed on a seperate folder so you can transfer it to a different os any time. Fantastic.

Just as a heads up, Eternal Sonata was released on the PS3 and Xbox360. Both RCPS3 and Xenia can play Eternal Sonata even on a steamdeck. If they wont let you play it legitimately, and youve bought a copy for your old systems… thats more than enough justification to emulate in my books.

The ps5 port only requires one screw to access. I know the hard drive on the PS4 was only one screw to access as well. I’m uncertain of the Xbox, they had a proprietary hard drive for the 360 so I didn’t go down that path. While that is slightly more complicated than inserting a SD card, it is not technical.

My wife tried to delete her fb account again (Shes done it a dozen times). Every other time she was able to keep access to messenger, this time it said no, she would lose access to that too. I think this is their push for people to use whatsapp instead.

I installed an add-on called social fixer to block sponsored content and ads in Facebook. It’s shown me that I don’t really get the connection with family or friends that I used to years ago. I get on average 70-80 sponsored posts on between real ones. It’s obscene.

Absolutely. I have a gaming PC and steam deck. Any game that doesn’t allow me to use the hardware I paid for, doesn’t get played.

And Metroid dread. I finished that one the weekend before it came out. Then bought the collectors tin.
