Waiting patiently for the next chapter of Berserk.
The wait is real bros.
I just finished this season’s Rokudo no Onna-tachi, which was criminally slept on because its premise sounds like it could get squicky (it never does). I also watched uh, Yuusha ga Shinda, Mashle (great but not slept on), and also kamikatsu which I plan on never ever telling anyone in real life I watched.
I’m also watching Bleach for the first time in 2023. People baited me into thinking it’d be bad but the soul society arc slapped. We’ll see how the Arrancar arc holds up.
I finally ploughed through Bleach. Started a couple of years ago after being baited to watch it too, but dropped it halfway as some of the arcs I felt just didn’t tie in. But ended up finishing it last year!
The soul society arc is definitely awesome! I enjoyed the “manga arcs” quite a lot, hopefully you’ll have the same experience too!
I had a few problems with it, but I thought the Arrancar arc was pretty decent. I won’t say anything else so that I don’t spoil anything for you.
Trying to decide if I should watch the Thousand-Year Blood War arc or not.
Watching the second season of Assassination Classroom. It’s a surprisingly wholesome meditation on teaching wrapped up in a shounen high school story.
I finished this recently. Kurosensei is my favorite teacher of all time.
Just finished a rewatch of Evangelion and then finally watched the Evangelion Rebuild OVAs.
Up next is probably the new Trigun series.
Also, been considering dipping my toes into One Piece for the first time.

Do light novels count? I’m absolutely devouring Tearmoon Empire for the time being cause it is a great stress reliever!
I’d say they do, only been pushed to read 2 through their anime though, Overlord and Ascendance of a Bookworm
Ooh I hope so! I’ve been reading Kumo Desu Ga, Nani Ka? for a while now
I’d been following the manga for that and I heard it diverges significantly from the LN (like, cutting out the entire human half of the story). Watching the show was an… interesting experience.
It does, you don’t have to get very far into it to start seeing where it diverges. The anime was hilarious to me, dunno if it’s for everyone though
I have started re-reading my Junji Ito books.
Forgot how creepy and weird his stories and art are.
Ayaka-chan wa Hiroko-senpai ni Koishiteru. It’s a Yuri about two office workers who crush on each other, but both of them think the other one is straight
That series took an interesting turn that has me way more invested in it than I thought I would be.
Birdie Wings: Golf Girls Story
It’s an anime about–golf. No, I am not kidding, trust me it’s good, and and it’s very well made considering the sport lol. It’s about two girls who are golf geniuses, and they play golf for the fun of it, but life keeps on getting in the way for our main character Eve. I liked it, and it’s a good comfort anime to watch.
Yeah, it’s amazing. It gets a little less over-the-top in the school arc (and I need to catch up) but even for someone like me who loathes golf irl this is a fun watch __
There’s nothing I’m super interested in this season besides JK, but I’m currently watching through Haikyu. Blue Lock got me interested in Sports anime, both are great.
Haikyuu is one of my favorites! If you liked Blue Lock, you will probably like Kuroko no Basket. Its got the same kind of “its a sport but the abilities are turned up so far to 11 as to be superpowers” aspect that Blue Lock does.
This season I’m watching Mushoku Tensei season 2, which is absolutely peak, and Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, which I’m VERY excited for. I don’t know what else is coming out this season to look out for? Would love recommendations of upcoming shows to keep an eye on
Helck’s manga gets RIDONKULOUSLY good, but IDK if the anime will get to the good parts of it. Its kind of a bait and switch fantasy comedy > fantasy action/drama type deal.
I’m hopeful for Helck. Probably the anime 8m hoping to recommend out this season.
Mushoku Tensei hype is real, the OG Isekei is getting an amazing adaption
Mushoku Tensei is so interesting to me just because like, it’s a gross show about a gross person in a cruel world but like, the way it’s rendered just feels correct for that kind of drama for the show? Like rudeus is AWFUL and it’s interesting seeing him thrust into this awful world that he thinks is a dream, and watching him sort of implicitly realize that he’s not going to get much out of a second chance to be someone he’s proud of unless he seizes it. It’s not a show I can recommend really easily but I think that it’s so brilliantly written and I’m always excited for more
Mushoku Tensei is amazing. Can’t wait to get more of the story.
I’ve been reading chainsaw man as the chapters come out. I’m not sure how to feel about this latest arc though. The next season of the anime is going to be great though.
I haven’t read past part one, since I prefer reading after everything is released due to the wait being too painful. But, how is the quality of the writing so far compared to part one?
Reading Chainsaw Man as it’s coming out too. I’m enjoying it, but it doesn’t have the impact the first part had, feel like there’s a reveal/twist that needs to happen to put a lot of things in context.
Yeah I agree. I’m assuming there’s some buildup that’s happening where it will fall into place. There’s some dynamics at play that could be interesting. I’m hoping it pays off at least!
I just finished catching back up on Yancha Gal no Anjou-san. I stopped reading manga for awhile after a move and now I’m slowly catching up on all of my series. Not sure what I’m going to pick up next. Might pick up a new series, instead of continuing to burn through my backlog, because why finish something when I can start something new?
Just reminded me to finish up reading Souboutei Kowasubeshi. It’s a pretty good paranormal/psychological horror manga that’s basically about a haunted house. It gets pretty intense at points. That and Monkey Peak
Reading: The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady
It’s so wholesome, I love it
