Read. Only. Friday. I say and advise it for years. Fortunately my company agrees with me.
Hexbear deployed on Xmas eve day. They truly are
Wildest plan I’ve ever seen respect to the instance operators
I always referred to them as “Read Only Fridays”.
So many bg3 updates have released on a Friday it’s crazy
Cloudflare had Friday and weekend major outages as well:

Then they’re wised up and all their recent major outages are on early weekdays.
Never build prod on friday. Just say CIS is down and you need to fix that first.
This isn’t even programmer-specific. No major IT changes on a Friday. Friday’s are for meetings you are dragged into for future projects coming the following weeks, and/or browsing the Internet. Maybe, just maybe, tidying up anything that could theoretically cause you a problem between Friday and Monday, but as long as there is minimum risk of causing a much bigger issue over the weekend.
How can I justify this lackadaisical approach to 20% of the working week? Because some asshole from your team/customer/vendor is not going to listen to reason and will continue to perform major maintenance on a Friday, thus causing you to be pulled in over the weekend to fix their shit.
