MIAMI -- The Phillies opened Spring Training believing Andrew Painter could make their Opening Day roster. Now, one wonders when he will even throw off a mound again. Painter, who is MLB Pipeline’s No. 10 prospect, is undergoing testing because of “discomfort” in his right elbow, Phillies manager Rob Thomson

    Well that’s not great but if he needs to wait until next year that’s OK too.

    I don’t love this, but I’m willing to wait if it means not wrecking some kid’s chances at a career.
