I intended for the joke to be that the judge is essentially suggesting that the solution is that the voters should trust the politicans who are trying to win their favor for sincere reasons, and not trust the ones who are secretly trying to exploit them.
Tbf hexbear is kinda too ironypoisoned and insular in our culture for any kind of outside agitation/propaganda/outreach. Not that I’m any better at this, mind

I’m not good at it either. But hexbear is still a valuable resource, even if a passive one.
It reminds me of being gay in the Deep South decades ago, even insular resources were so important, even if they did not do activism
