My wife and I are camping in Mackinaw City for the bridge Walk. Tomorrow is open for activities.

My wife has never seen pictured rocks. My dad took me when I was young. I haven’t been back.

When I went, we had a canoe we took out into the water (not smart, now I know, at least we stayed by the beach). But this time I don’t have any of that. Just us.

Not afraid to put a few miles of hiking in. A waterfall would be nice too, but not as important as the Lakeshore and seeing the rocks. Heck, I’d even do a boat tour if people recommend it, but I imagine that might be booked up, we’re going there tomorrow.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I grew up in Michigan and spend a majority of my summers camping in the UP. Marquette is a neat town if you want a city nearby for lunch or dinner. I’d recommend doing one of the glass bottom shipwreck tours, I believe there are a few different ones. I did one that took us out to see the shipwrecks, and also went by the pictured rocks, so I think it was likely out of Munising. If you stop in at any touristy area, there will be tons of pamphlets for local things to do, which are great for people in your situation.
