my friend has a masters in anthropolgy and she loves to tell the story about “fertility icons” where basically these stuff old dudes in the field back in the day when women weren’t in any positions would dig up a site and find carvings of penises and such and be like “these are fertility icons” or “they clearly worhsipped a fertility god” and now women are part of the profession and they are like “no, these are ancient dildos”
