    The EU promised to

Purchase $750 billion in U.S. energy over three years—primarily liquefied natural gas (LNG), replacing Russian supply chains.

    https://paradigmfutures.net/a/news/us-eu-trade-deal-2025/

In 2024, EU imports of US LNG dropped to 51 billion cubic meters (bcm), from 62 bcm in 2023 https://www.energypolicy.columbia.edu/bridging-the-us-eu-trade-gap-with-us-lng-is-more-complex-than-it-sounds/

    That’s 1,173 billion MMBtu

Even at $3 per MMBtu we seem to be ready to overfulfill our commitment.

I can’t speak for all of Europe but in 2022 Germany had a minister for economics who actually gave a damn. His ministry decoupled the country‘s gas supply from Russia blazing fast and he was Germany‘s most popular politician by the end of that year. Then Russia launched massive smear campaigns against him specifically and idiots ate it up.

Habeck was one of the best politicians Germany ever had. The press (especially Axel Springer and RTL) really did everything they could to destroy him.

Of course, Springer would keep Hitler try to put Hitler in power were he still alive.

Habeck was the best we could hope to get, but the majority of the people (worldwide) are just plain idiots. That our species made it this far is actually unbelievable.
