How is there alt text on a print comic from '92? Has Larson been adding alt captions to his old comics?
I literally post the alt text as it’s defined in the HTML, which for this site is just a transcript of all of the words in the drawn portion of the comic. They generate those transcripts somehow, I assume interns or nowadays AI. It’s distinct from the practice of alt text in webcomics as commonly providing an extra joke (which is in fact most often the title text; alt text is only displayed when an image won’t load)
It’s a yamaha
You’d think it’d be a Lincoln Town Car but it’s built by Ford.
It can cross rivers.
See, that’s funny because Ford does actually make Lincoln
once told someone how crazy that Abraham got in the car industry after being president.
Had to do a double take then they believed me.
Do people still generally know that Abe Lincoln grew up in a log cabin? Is that still taught in grade school?
Yes. Although, most people are mistakenly of the impression he was born in Illinois. This is not the case. Lincoln practiced law in Illinois, was in the Illinois house of reps, was the US rep for Illinois, and lived in Illinois most of his life, but the log cabin he was born in was actually just outside of Louisville, Kentucky.
Lincoln was not governor of Illinois
Just listened to a podcast where a 6th grade English teacher explained she has to teach half the class how to form complete sentences. In fucking 6th grade!!
Corvid was 5 years ago. Some current 6th graders didn’t really start school until the 3rd grade, and unless their parents were actively and constantly teaching them, they ain’t know shit
Yeah, this was my first thought, as I played with them as a kid. But, then I remembered why they were called Lincoln Logs.
