I love how awkward this is. None of it hangs together. Imagine the hapless ad guys who had to come up with this campaign - it’s shoe polish, ffs. They’re in the midst of the post-war boom in every field, new products all the time, massive advances in science and tech and society and they’re stuck peddling a product that would have been kinda ho-hum 50 years ago.
