    Is it just a North American thing to have a signalled crossroad with no dividing islands?

    I’m not sure I have ever seen this in any other country.

    All these types of collisions stories always use phrases like, “the vehicle hit” or “the truck/car/motorcycle collided with”.

    The finger point always somehow starts with the vehicle its self, never the operator behind the wheel, or anything to do with the surrounding infrastructure. It’s always as if the driver themselves never existed.

    I bet that this is going to be one of those drivers who believe they own the road and who stops first goes first. You’ve seen the dashcams of drivers that double down when they clearly could’ve yielded.

    I have a feeling he’s going to claim the ol’ Chip excuse, “I’m sorry officer, I didn’t know I couldn’t do that”.
