The real kicker is I don’t even know that I’ve heard a proposal to make them taxpayer funded. I’ve only heard the proposal to tax them like bandages or toilet paper instead of cosmetics.

Neither bothers me in the slightest, but the people getting upset about fixing an obvious tax misclassification are just contrary assholes.
