Probably doing active surveillance on you and sending state and corporate relevant summaries somewhere. Most surveillance is passive and mostly from written text as that data is cheaper to store, if you can convince rubes that the memory usage is good you can use their processing power for free to crunch heavier formats like video, audio, and photos rather than paying a data center to do surveillance.
the NSA scanned my hard drive and determined that i’m a liberal 😓
dang that’s wasteful I can tell you what’s slowing down that PC in only 7 bytes
The user would be on Windows, though, which uses UTF-16LE, so the message would be 14 bytes:
0x57 0x00 0x69 0x00 0x6e 0x00 0x64 0x00 0x6f 0x00 0x77 0x00 0x73 0x00
Don’t make me tap the sign… Unused RAM is wasted RAM! Having 1 gig allocated to it doesn’t really mean anything unless it’s impacting your other processes, and there’s no way to judge that based on the information he’s given us here
We’re bringing just in time manufacturing to your computer!
Well it’s kinda the opposite, isn’t it? Preallocating free memory for things in case they need them. Otherwise switching tasks would be more cumbersome. Although the assuming I will need to use copilot is a little galling, yes
